My solicitor has requested a letter from the vendors, so hopefully will get that, and I have also asked the agent to ask the vendors for a letter, so hopefully it will materialise in the next 24hours or so Otherwise our solicitor will still push for settlement this week.
Although apparently if we give them a notice to complete they can pull out of the sale and just give us our money back Which we obviously dont want.
The people across the road have lodged their plans and they have been given approval, so it shouldnt be so difficult
Our ideal scenario is we get letter from agent or solicitor, lodge plans tomorrow and then they take 6 weeks to settle which means money sits in our bank longer, but if we have to we will settle tomorrow or ASAP.
Sunshine I am just over it now, we have built twice before and never had these issues (plenty of building issues not paperwork issues ) it just seems to be unattainable at the moment
Good luck your end. Let me know if the vendor agrees to your request. If they are being difficult, you could ask for "conditional approval". What I mean is, they might be reluctant to give the OK because legally they might need to wait till settlement, but often things happen before hand "on condition" that it all falls apart, or is refunded, or approval reneged etc. if certain things (such as settlement) is delayed or cancelled. Just thinking of what else you can do ...
