I am very excited to say that I went out to visit gogo this afternoon. And O.M.G. can you believe it - her place looks even better in real life!!!! Lots of wow factor! I think the two things that don't convey well in photos is the generous space and size (corridors, doors, ceiling etc.) which gives it a really amazing light and airy feel, and then the colours of the paint - seeing it in person the paint colours are softer, warmer and absolutely gorgeous. Well done gogo!! T it was great to see you and show off my house I have internet for a short period, but no new photos House has been in a bit of a muddle since he removalist came on Monday, but we are slowly getting organised. Need to go back to rental and clean out the last few things, cant wait to give the keys in. A few issues this week so far. Taps in ensuite were plumbed the wrong way around, so they have been working on that, plumbers there all day yesterday then SS there all day today fixing it, re-waterproofed this afternoon and tiling to be done thursday or friday, they have had to remove three of my beautiful ensuite tiles, all the villaboard etc, so a big fix up job, but Zen have been wonderful and had the SS there on top of everything, towel rails and soap dishes installed today. Plasterer has been back fixing a few little scratches and dings in the walls and painters will be back at the end of the week doing any patch jobs. So still expecting tilers to finish of a few things (ensuite, BBQ splashback, tiles to laundry step and a little grouting on front porch), painters and sparky to finish off something. Lights: we bought some 300x300 flush mounted led wall lights for the stairwell as recommended by the light shop we went to, paid nearly $300 each for two lights, wasnt worried because they looked nice with a nice brushed stainless steel surround, like the little sq stair lights but bigger, gave lights to sparkie, but there was not bracket or spring clip to install them, a few phonecalls later to supplier, woops we need another bracket but it has to be made, two weeks later we pick up the lights and they have made a big white holder thing that sticks out of the wall, so much for my flushmounted wall lights, so we returned them back and waiting now for a smaller 200x200 light to come in, so still no lights in stairs, lucky we haven't fallen down the stairs yet Fridge: I bought a new westinghouse side by side fridge, it was delivered on Friday but has these dings in the actual stainless steel, it feels flat but at certain angles there are four dings about 5xcm each, called winnings, told that all the westinghouse fridges seem to have that now, well of course i said i dont want a fridge with marks like that, they offered to deliver a new fridge today which they did, it also had one large ding, similar to the first fridge but also had rust marks all over it, the delivery guys put it back on the truck, now need to go and buy another fridge, visit to winnings tomorrow on the cards. But really westinghouse, not sure why someone would want to spend that much on a fridge to have dings on it Have some photos, will post when i have access to photobucket my new lounge for the front room and upstairs rumpus is being delivered tomorrow, cant wait to see it Blinds not going on till next thursday. Pool company not being very nice and not returning our calls, if they think they are going to charge us extra costs for going over contract they have another thing coming. Hoping that things will progress next week and the T pot shouldnt be too far behind Oh and the best news, my dad has turned the corner, from thinking he wasnt going to survive two weeks ago, to now sitting up talking and eating and even taking a few steps, is amazing, big celebrations at the hospital tomorrow for his birthday Loving the house, still no TV or internet but enjoying the space and the fireplace. Oh and I used one oven today to heat up potato gems, damn they were good, crunchy on the outside soft on the inside, i can cook Promise some updated photos on the weekend once I have my new lounges and all my boxes are unpacked Re: Gogo's build: PHotos! 3634Aug 07, 2012 11:02 pm WHOOP WHOOP!!! That is awesome news all round!!! Sounds like you are on the pulse and excited for it to be over Can't wait to see the photo's of this fridge.... that sounds suspect. Brand new means NO DINGS!!! Can't get enough photos.... ~ okjorg viewtopic.php?f=31&t=55196&p=844089#p844089 Settlement date - 13 Jan Final plans - 24 Sept Council approval - 21 Oct First peg in the ground - 7 Nov Re: Gogo's build: PHotos! 3635Aug 08, 2012 12:19 am Sounds good, Gogo! Why are the pool company being idiots? Are you off work next week too? The unpacking is much better than the packing though. To see each box empty and your new house filling up with bits and pieces from your old house really makes it your home. I am jealous that sunshineT got to see it in real life. Where did you get your inspirations from? I am very happy for you and your family. Especially feeling warm and fuzzy about your dad's improved health. Re: Gogo's build: PHotos! 3640Aug 08, 2012 8:41 am Great news about your Dad!
