Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Gogo's build-Land is registered!! 301Oct 11, 2011 3:22 pm Don't be too impulsive gogo!!! You know you do want to build this house. I am sure people can lodge themselves. Our plans were lodged by another company (not our builder). Our neighbours next door lodged their plans themselves. Deep breathes... I am sure all will be fine by the end of the week... What sort of money are you losing? Rent? Holding money on the land? It just isnt important to anyone else but us, to everyone else it is just a number on a piece of paper. The people across the road have had their plans in for over 2 weeks, there is no reason why it cant be us. I'm sick of being told that something will be done by a particular day and it doesnt get done, Yep each day is now rent we are literally throwing away. You know Sunshine I thought I really wanted it but now I'm not so sure Re: Gogo's build-Land is registered!! 303Oct 11, 2011 5:54 pm Oh no... Please don't give up, gogo...After everything that you have done & paid, I'm sure there is a way out... fingers crossed, good luck, gogo... (by the way, you're not the only one who got upset with our builder... Today I just been told that head office can only lodge the plan to developer by next week ..instead of 2 days after color appointment like Colt said). Re: Gogo's build-Land is registered!! 304Oct 11, 2011 6:21 pm Dont worry Willcres, by the rate we're going your plans will still be lodged into council before mine But what are wisdom on about, it was literally just an email to Greg Mann. You could probably do it yourself, they just want a copy of the plans and a list of external colours. Very simple. This is surely the last hurdle - it may seem like one hurdle too many but don't let a bunch of pencil pushers ruin your dreams ... thinking of you Thanks everyone, still really really upset but have decided to give it to the end of the week, It's not even the money, it's just the whole process. For every day we are delayed this end it's another day at the other end in this stupid rental Stupid paperwork Re: Gogo's build-Plans lodged- finally! 307Oct 12, 2011 1:30 pm Well finally after week after week of delay, our plans have been lodged to council, it's funny after being so very disappointed yesterday I'm not really excited, in a sense I feel relieved but that's it. So now I know the plans are in I just need to sit back and watch the next 6-8 weeks go by Site start in December hopefully Re: Gogo's build-Plans lodged- finally! 308Oct 12, 2011 1:35 pm Thank goodness .. the waiting is a pain isn't it? We thought the same until we were in the house and suddenly thought phew that 6 months went quick .. didn't seem like it at the time though! Great news - very pleased for you and yours. For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! So happy for you, gogo... Good luck for the next 6-8 weeks... Re: Gogo's build-Plans lodged- finally! 314Oct 13, 2011 6:59 am Gi Gogo, just started reading your thread, not all of it, but very intersiting. What a house you are planning... it is stunning. I am building a 2 storey at the moment, it is about 80 sqm smaller than yours and i thought ours was fairly big. We are in Queensland and the longest thing for us was to get approval from the body corporate as we are in one one of those estates where there are LOTS of building regulations. Its good I suppose, keeps a nice standard in the estate... Council approval onley takes 2 weeks up here. Well, council just does the plumbing approval and the plans are approved by private certifiers. Is this not the case in other Australian states? Anyways, really looking forward to your build, follow your dream, it's a cracker of a house... Re: Gogo's build-Plans lodged- finally! 315Oct 13, 2011 7:25 am Hi Tan, Thanks for the comments, yeah it is pretty big 52sq. Pur main thing was an ensuite fir bed 2 as well as big beds for our kids, lucky for us our kids. In regards to the approval process, it is literally different for every council in NSW We have a development plan stipulated by council regarding fences, driveways, size of block, size of house. Our suburb has ain 700m block, 300sqm min house( not including alfresco/garage/porch etc) We also have to get developer approval who look at colours and facades to make sure two similar homes are not build near each other etc. Council then give approval, and then we get the construction certificate from a private certifier. We can go through a private certifier but only if the home follows even stricter guidelines, like 4m off side fence, double garage only, ridge height and eave size has to be within certain limits but it is very difficult to comply, so full council approval it is Will check out your thread later, good luck with your build Re: Gogo's build-Plans lodged- finally! 316Oct 13, 2011 7:32 am min 300sq mets just for living. WOW, you want to tell us now you are a celebrity? we can handle it, we wont ask for autographs, well maybe one..... can we guess who you really are? Re: Gogo's build-Plans lodged- finally! 317Oct 13, 2011 7:56 am Behave Kiwi I think it is one of those things to keep the value in the area. When you are paying 500k for land you want the homes to look nice. Oh and actually I was on tv once, I was at work....as a nurse Re: Gogo's build-Plans lodged- finally! 318Oct 13, 2011 10:22 am Well I guess I can consider myself lucky then. The building approval rate has dropped by heaps up here on the Gold coast. Which is good for us I guess but not so good for our builder. Love your floor plan but who is going to clean this palace? Lol Re: Gogo's build-Plans lodged- finally! 319Oct 13, 2011 11:49 am tan39 Well I guess I can consider myself lucky then. The building approval rate has dropped by heaps up here on the Gold coast. Which is good for us I guess but not so good for our builder. Love your floor plan but who is going to clean this palace? Lol Yeah, we feel like we just keep having to jump through hoops. As for cleaning- I'm rich and famous, it will get done by itself Re: Gogo's build-Plans lodged- finally! 320Oct 13, 2011 11:57 am Ha ha I wouldn't mind a cleaning lady from Bali. Apparently they only cost 45 cents an hour. Even I that is not rich or famous could afford that I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15586 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 17345 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 11984 |
