Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Gogo's build-final final plans....promise! 188Aug 27, 2011 7:34 am I am going to tell DH too!!! gogo - I read up on Fengshui a while back but have forgotten everything! So can't help there. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of looking from front door door to the back yard. And a water feature will be even better. Years ago (can't believe it has been that long!) when we were first designing our house I was trying that exact thing - to walk in the door and see out to glass onto the lawn - but it just didn't work for our house. Zen's idea of a fixed glass panel is excellent! I love long slender fixed windows. I so love your design gogo - I definitely want to come check out your house when it is built! Which company Zen used? Btw I'm chinese descendant but choose not to believe the fengshui, he..he.. So much rules & make me headache... Re: Gogo's build-final final plans....promise! 191Aug 27, 2011 9:23 pm Looks awesome! I wouldn't be too worried about the feng shui. It's not a door, just a window so the money shouldn't be able to 'flow' out IYGWIM? Great work! Thankyou Gilbey I was never really concerned, it was all about having the home designd to suit us, in saying that if it means I will become really wealthy, then hey I will put more windows in willcres Very nice, well thought new plan, gogo... so have u choose/design the kitchen? Thankyou Willcres, it really is just that small extension but I think it will make a difference. As for kitchens, no I have not been to the kitchen company yet and I dont know who they use, although I do believe it is only a small company, maybe Sunshine knows However I really want to get the kitchen organised, firstly so I can get my colours sorted and secondly so I can decide on my appliances and see just how much I will spend I think maybe the Zen customers should lead a revolt and tell the boys we want to do kitchens NOW Re: Gogo's build-final final plans....promise! 193Aug 28, 2011 2:29 pm sorry - don't know the kitchen company. I probably know most other suppliers though! We did our kitchen designs ourselves, down to the mm (on my thread). What is it about the kitchen you need to decide? Dimensions? I went out to look at kitchens yesterday (trying to decide colours again!). It is fun but soooo hard!! Yes I need to have the layout designed, the layout in the plans is just a rough guide, On the long wall I want a full appliance wall, so I need to know exactly what will fit etc. Then I can arrange my appliances. Then next stop colours...... Re: Gogo's build-final final plans....promise! 195Sep 02, 2011 4:31 pm So after a frustrating week, with ****** from everybody I have finally found out exactly where the land registration is up to. The idiots that lodged the paperwork, lodge the incorrect paperwork to the bank, so they signed the wrong documents and then these incorrect documents were lodged to the lands department, fast forward a week and now things are hopefully sorted, registration should be happening in the next 2-3 weeks, will keep checking the lands department and follow exactly where the application is up to. So frustrating I just want my land registered and put the plans into council. On a more happier note, we have had both pool companies out again this week, they will be redrawing some concepts due to the fact we have changed the back of the house, we will hopefully decide what pool builder in the next week and lodge the plans ASAP, then we can get the pool started whenever we need to. Re: Gogo's build-final final plans....promise! 197Sep 02, 2011 4:50 pm Gorgeous design!! Think I'd just go with a slightly smaller window in the study so that you could potentially line the walls with bookcases without blocking the window. Otherwise, just wow!! Re: Gogo's build-final final plans....promise! 198Sep 02, 2011 6:35 pm somewoman Gorgeous design!! Think I'd just go with a slightly smaller window in the study so that you could potentially line the walls with bookcases without blocking the window. Otherwise, just wow!! Thanks Somewoman, took a little while but I think it will suit our family We have already made the window in the study smaller so that we can have bookcases made to go under the window and we are also going to be using some of the media cupboard from the theatre room on the right hand side as built in bookcase, so the top part will be storage in the theatre room and the bottom half will be reversed as bookcase in the study, hope that makes sense Re: Gogo's build-final final plans....promise! 199Sep 04, 2011 9:30 pm I have just paid $45 to have a facade mockup done, I have to say I was very happy with the process they were very fast, but not very happy with the finished product, not sure if it my colour selections that are crap, or the program they use does not have correct colours.
Below is my mock up they sent me Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Now my brick colour from Austral as well as monument my window gutter/fascia colour. I'm just not sure whether the colours are poor or what, but I'm not liking it There doesn't seem to be enough contrast. Do you think the visual is a good representation?? I'm worried I think the windows and gutters/fascia should be darker???
