Obviously you'd just take from this list what was applicable to your house as it was specific to the OP's house, but it's a good list to give you ideas. Portico and under balcony • Why is ceiling under balcony different to portico? • Need to install x2 downlights the check switch once installed • Paint/maroka ok? • Check bricks for chips • Check mortar correct • Check cornice for cracks 2. Foyer/Hallway • Door stop for entry door • Check door opens/closes/locks • Door stop for garage door • Down lights line up – fixed yet? • Ceiling & Check cornice for cracks • Check door + paint • Check floor tiles inspect for scratches • Check skirting • 20mm maximum gap between door and FFL • Check light switches • test alarm • Electrical plan checked for consistency? 3. Formal living • Wall between stairs and formal living – check wall quality – needs painting, change skirting to 1 full piece instead of 2 pieces, make wall flush with other wall. Install timber capping on stepped part of wall, check new wall doesn’t conflict with light switch (refer to standards and tolerance – architraves and skirting are defective if not aligned and flush) • Ceiling & Check cornice for cracks • Paint • Power points work? • Light switches work and correctly linked • Doors open fine and don't smash the wall (door stopper?) • Window opens and closes correctly • Windows and frames not scratched inside and outside • Check carpet • Glass manufacture problem in door? • Check aircon location • Electrical plan checked for consistency? 4. Ensuite • Silver waste outlet in line with tiles • Wall tile is not the tile selected – awaiting d’lorenzo’s response. Standards and tolerance advise substitute requires written agreement of owner. • Wall tiles below and above vanity do not line up – need to be fixed to comply with standards and tolerances document • Move towel rail form above toilet to below window – ensure does not conflict with door. Check where rail was to ensure fixed and painted OK • check all downlights that they do not have insulation in direct contact. Check lights in bathroom to ensure there is no beam in the way to stop light being centred. Also ensure they aren’t too close to any beams • Check cabinet doors work properly and finish and ensure they line up Laminate cupboard and bench top ok? • Check no scratches on mirror and shower screen • Paint & Check cornice for cracks • Ceiling • Check floor tiles inspect for scratches • Window opens and closes correctly • Light switches linked correctly • Test tap and shower taps • Plugs? • Test toilet • Power points • Electrical plan checked for consistency? • 14.
