Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 19, 2011 2:21 am Hi Everyone It's late and I have spent all of tonight reading every single post regarding Allworth Homes. Please forgive me if there are some typos or incorrect grammar. I have learnt a lot about Allworth and the small hidden things about building a new home, thank you to all who have contributed. I have recently bought a block of Land in Sydney's West and have decided to go with Allworth Homes and build a Concerto on my lot. I paid my $500 4 weeks ago to get a tender written up. After receiving my tender I made a few changes on the tender but was advised that I will receive a new tender in a week. I was told by my rep at Allworth Kellyville to pay my $2500 deposit so I my plans can be sent off to head office and get my plans underway. It has been 3 weeks now and I still have not received a new tender. I called up my rep at Allworth Kellyville and has then advised me that I won't be receiving a new tender until we are ready to send the plans off to the council. He then told me that I should of received a deposit confirmation letter 3 weeks ago. Does this mean my Allworth head office haven't received my plans? I also noticed things on the rough house plans that my rep didn't pick up (or didn't want to tell me) that the front of my roof will be flat due to the dining/lounge room having to be set back to comply with council regulations. So the front of my dinning/lounge room will inline with the garage. I've been told that I may have to pay around $400 to send the plans back to Allworth headquarters because I want a dutch gable on my roof to compensate for the flat fronted roof. I have also been told It will cost around $1500 for a dutch gable. If I knew my house was going to have a flat fronted roof I would of removed space from another room to avoid this. I'm very confused with the whole process and I feel that my rep from Allworth Kellyville hides a lot of information from me. What are the process with Allworth Homes? Is there anything else I should look out for? If anyone is interested I am thinking of scanning my tender and rough house plans. Kind Regards Re: Building with Allworth. What should I look out for? 2Apr 20, 2011 1:05 pm I am also building a Concerto with Allworth but it's a house land package so I am not sure how much help I will be...I find their admin/call back first stages EXTREMELY frustrating. It literally took me going into their dispaly homes and bursting into tears before anyone would listen to me! I can definitely recommend ringing their head office and talking to them. They have been the only people to really help me along the way. As for the cost of changing plans I'm not sure as ours was all included and I am not sure what you mean in relation to the front of your house. It doesn't suprise me that you haven't heard anything for three weeks though so definitely call head office. However since our house has finally started (9 months after paaying our deposit) they build process has been really quick. So if you can put up with the sloe admin stuff it might be worth it??? I've decided, after a period of confusion (my building broker told me it's probably not worth it to use a lawyer, but others have said it is a must) that I definitely will… 7 27917 No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11569 Interested in getting either the Polytec Boston Oak or Palace Peak for kitchen cabinets. Looking at the Boston Oak ones, it appears that the colour varies significantly… 0 9157 |
