Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 16, 2011 12:29 pm Hi All, We live on a sloping site, downwards towards our house and want to get the drainage right for obvious reasons. The engineers report has come back stating we will need to do a spoon drain. Now we were actually planning on doing a c channel drain as we currently live in a place with a spoon drain that constantly just gets full on dirt and leaves and the water just tends to pool around the house and not drain away. We thought a c channel drain would be better as it would have a cover on it to keep the leaves out of it. Can anyone offer any guidance, is a spoon drain better than c channel and why would a spoon drain be better? Thanks! Re: Spoon Drain vs Channel Drain 2Apr 16, 2011 1:52 pm The c channel still gets dirt in it only its not so obvious so you have to remember to clean it. Also if the lady of the house wears stilettos there is more grate to catch your heels Even so I prefer the C channel as its easier to drive over, and my wife doesn't wear stilletos.
