Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 12, 2011 12:51 am Am building 2 townhouses in a dual occupancy in melbournes east. Most people are saying anywhere between $7000-9000 on average per SQUARE (not sqm) for living space (i.e. upstairs, downstairs and garage). They are custom designed townhouses done by my private architect. Does this $7000-9000 figure normally include things like the driveway etc? Re: Cost per square for townhouses in melbourne 2Apr 12, 2011 6:46 am Hi redfox, It depends on what you want to put as your inclusions. Generally for a average standard fitted out custom designed home, you are looking in the price range of $9,000 to $11,000 per SQ. I know someone who is building a dual occ, as a demolish and sub-divide project. The dual occ is costing over $10K per SQ. However, the homes are very well spec'd Hope this helps CKR Re: Cost per square for townhouses in melbourne 3Apr 12, 2011 9:31 am Some more figures to chuck in the pipeline http://www.bmtqs.com.au/ConstructionCostTable.aspx http://www.bmtqs.com.au/ConstructionCostCalculator.aspx multiple occ properties are always billed by trades at a premium, rarely per sqm for the lot.
