We have decided to go with Macdonald Jones as our builder like their Havana Elite design. This is a 4 bed with study single storey and in our case we have extended the optional alfresco area.We have optioned also the "Impressions package" as they call it as this seems good value. This is our first home to use steel frame construction and are interested to hear from anyone with experience in steel frames and also essentially any experiences good or bad with this builder.

Hi Ash&Sue, we also are building our first home in Beaumont Hills. We did the rounds with several builders and settled on Mcdonald Jones. From the first consultation we found their staff very professional and non pushy. We are building the Havana with rear HT and the grand cabana. We also took the impressions package and went with their tilers and carpet. We did ceasarstone in kitchen (40mm), frameless shower screens, higher ceilings ( looks great with single level home), chose Actron Air over Derby ( used this one before, very good). We found Colour selection very daunting (too much to take in and make decisions on straight away). Electrical appointment very good, much variety to choose but very expensive (dont get caught in the moment) we spent $7k. Our slab was poured on 25/1/11 and house has app 1 month to go before handover, we have been very lucky with weather and all trades people we have met have been fantastic and expressed how MJH were compared to other builders. We are very happy with prrogress and quality so far. Feel free to ask any questions regarding the building stages if you like.
Happy building Wayne6666
