Browse Forums Building A New House Re: anyone building in armstrong creek? 422Jun 04, 2013 8:50 am Hi, We are in the final stages of buying land in Armstrong creek just a quick question, my wife does not drive yet and was wondering if the bus route no. 80 from Barwon heads to Geelong has it started stopping outside the Waralily estate. We went to the estate on Sunday and saw that the bus stop is there but was wondering if the buses actually stop there. Also for people who have already moved in have you managed to get internet , phone connections? Btw We are yet to buy the land.We are confused whether to buy titled land (it seems there are some titled lots are available) in that case we need to start building house immediately or to buy stage 24A/B with title release date end of July -Aug . Just weighing all pros and cons before taking the plunge. My name is Lucinda and I am starting up a Family Day Care in Wild Oak Avenue, Armstrong Creek through the Greater City of Geelong. I am just getting interested numbers at the moment but looking at starting next month. I can be contacted on here or I have business cards placed in the W lounge with mine and the councils details on them. I am only going to be having 3 children so places are limited. I have full qualifications and have been primary teaching for the last 5 years however have just had my own bub and wanted to stay home with her hence why I have begun this adventure. Re: anyone building in armstrong creek? 429Jun 13, 2013 6:54 pm Wazza78 So how is the nbn speed ? It's faster, you definitely notice it when you watch things like YouTube etc, there's no pauses. We've just got the base speed as I wanted to try that out first, but you can increase even more for a bit extra per month. I'm happy with the speed I have, pages load heaps quicker - not instant, but I'd say consistently no more than 2-3 seconds I guess. Re: anyone building in armstrong creek? 433Jun 18, 2013 9:14 pm Wazza78 Has it been getting much rain there and if so how is the estate holding up Yeah, it's wet, muddy, but like anywhere else if the build's not finished and landscaping not done I guess. We've got our lawn & landscaping done and to be honest, it's not unlike anywhere else. It's a muddy mess if you're building though... Re: anyone building in armstrong creek? 434Jun 19, 2013 11:24 pm There was lots of water pooled in the flat grassy area next to Barwon Heads Road near the northern end of development. Hopefully the swale that runs into the culvert under Warralily Boulevard and into the creek will be extended to cover that area to prevent water covering the road. The creek handled the stormwater fine and there were no problems with any roads or properties that I saw.
