Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 03, 2008 11:54 am I've read quite a bit from people submitting permits and other things to council, and am just curious as to why some of you deal with this yourselves: is it something you wanted to do, does it decrease costs significantly if you do it yourself instead of your builder, is it because some builders won't do it so you have to do it yourself? Re: Dealings with coucil prior to building 2Jan 03, 2008 12:12 pm Our builder (PD) only do the work for the building permit - we had to do the planning permit through council ourselves. Not too hard - just need to be able to sift through the waffle of the planning scheme....the hard bit is waiting and hassleing the council morons who couldnt care less how long they take to do anything...... Re: Dealings with coucil prior to building 6Jan 03, 2008 1:59 pm We had a quote of $5000 for someone to do ours with no guarantee.
