Our home inspection is expected the beginning of November so hopefully all good from then.. How did your game go ? , have you got a handicap for golf ? , i have not played for a long time,..... Back home ( Scotland ) i used to play 2 - 3 rounds a week + range work got down to single figure handicap, i would hate to imagine what i'd play off now.. i'd struggle to swing past my Belly Ger Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 - At Handover 242Oct 22, 2011 12:51 pm Ger, I went past last night and there were no stickers left on the walls and the brick work had been done. The flashing on the portico is in place and I assume they will paint that to match the rest of the guttering. The only thing I could not see was the alfresco doors to see if they had been adjusted. So yes, we are pretty much done. The most golf I've ever played was a job 10 years ago we used to play every Friday morning at Brighton before work and I was very happy to come away with a score card in the mid-forties. My best was 42 off 9. Not sure there is a big enough handicap for me On Thursday I hit 54, my short game was awful. Nothing more frustrating then to have a great approach to the tee and then take another 6 shots to cover that last 30 meters. Would love to play regularly again... Chatz Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 - At Handover 243Oct 24, 2011 9:46 pm Hooray!!! We have a new supervisor and he seems great. He called this morning to say his aim is to get us in there for an inspection in roughly 2 and a half weeks' time. I like him already. Let's see if he comes through. Our house was moving at the pace of a snail for the past 3 weeks.... Pretty much nothing done. We're annoyed bout it but not much can be done now. At the moment we r at roughly 30K for things needing to be done after handover.... Wow, lots of cheese toasties this Christmas and i think my Christmas present to myself will be the new walk in robe. Chatz, any chance of moving over the long weekend? Trudy Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 - At Handover 246Oct 26, 2011 12:43 pm It's ours!!!! Still does not seem real even though I've already started putting my Tupperware in the pantry. Chatz is away for work so I'm anxious for him to get back today, it might seem more real then! The kids thought they should have had a day off school, as if! Discovered a trap for young players. Our site supervisor was doing our handover, which was good, except that each time I asked about appliance installation he'd tell me it'd be sorted at handover. Asked this morning, he didnt know the process but head office would book it. Fronted up to the settlement person today who informed me that 5 working days notice is required and the earliest that could be arranged is next Wednesday - a whole week away. We are moving in straight away, can handle no stove or dishwasher but hot water??? It's unreal. I'm currently waiting on a call back about getting around it somehow, perhaps Friday. Even then, the heating/cooling can't be set up till everything else is. The settlement lady was great about t and hopefully it will work out. We will go ahead with the move anyway, and throw ourselves on the mercy of relatives for showers! It's a fabulous day. Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 - At Handover 247Oct 26, 2011 1:20 pm Congrats guys!! Thanks for the heads up about the appliance situation. We are rapidly becoming experts on fences. We have sent, on a few occasions now, a notice to fence in registered mail to neighbours. So far they have always responded in time agreeing to the fence, but if they don't you can then get a court order (yes, more delay). Will the fence guy do the work if the neighbour has not signed off on the fence? Chatz Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 - We have keys 253Oct 27, 2011 9:35 am Hmmmm not sure, that's something ill have to ask him I'm going to the council today to hand in forms for details of our neighbours. Let's hope they agree to paying half. We are on such a tight budget for Dec and Jan, we r getting kinda worried. Also got a permit to widen the council driveway by half a meter do it lines up with our garage. I'll ask council if we can get onto this before handover... We'd like to use our garage ASAP, we have never ever had a garage for our cars .... Ever. Well blow me over, not been on the forum for a few days and you guys are moving in can't believe it.. Great news and hope the move goes well and reasonably stress free.. Must feel unreal right ? all the best guys Gerry Ger Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 - We have keys! 257Oct 30, 2011 3:47 pm Hi everyone! Yes I'm posting this from the house. Yesterday we moved from "the shed" where we had been living for the past year. Today we moved everything that had been in storage at Granny Chatz to here, with all the boxes taking up my garage waiting for bookcases to be put in their new homes. We use Minimovers for both moves and they did a great job, despite the weather and the moat around the house. I have butcher's paper on the bedroom windows until we get the blinds in about 2 weeks. The fridge has only just gone on. The TV is not hooked up yet. BUT WE DON'T CARE The cat had her first night at the house last night. We had pet doors installed in the two garage doors (to inside the house and to the rear) so her tray and food can live in the garage. She is never move than a few feet from Mrs Chatz, looking very nervous. But I'm sure she will adapt. Our first night went well, everyone was exhausted and went straight to sleep. Even in the master bedroom at the front of the house, we can barely hear the trains, they don't toot anywhere near us. Tomorrow the appliances will be installed so we can vacate "the shed" completely as we will have hot water and can have showers here. We are all tired but it is a great feeling to be in the house at last. Chatz Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 - We have keys 258Oct 30, 2011 10:32 pm Aaahhhh - so much space! I know we haven't got to the boxes yet, and there's a complete moat around us and no proper Internet but wow, so happy to be here! I do hope the cat detaches herself from me at some point and that the kids emerge from their rooms. There's boxes to see to! Granny Chatz is delighted to almost have her garage back and the Chatz cousins claim to miss us already. My sister and brother in law have been here helping lots, especially with assembling our daughter's "wall of awesomeness", which will be a stunning Ikea desk/cabinet combo. We are very tired, and pleased it's a long weekend. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......... Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 - We have keys 259Oct 30, 2011 10:37 pm And a big thank you to our lovely forum friends for all the good wishes and cheering us on. Cant wait to return the favor! Everything crossed for speedy and smooth completions. Re: Knockdown and building Henley's Talise Q2 - We have keys 260Nov 03, 2011 9:31 am On cup day I found my self cutting into the skirting and drilling holes into one of the bedrooms to install an IKEA desk combination. It all went really well, partly thanks to photos of the frame which helped us to easily find the wall studs. Here is the end result: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ IKEA are out of stock of some of the drawer units on the left-hand side, but otherwise it is finished.
