You do have to pick whether you want 1c or 2c before your plans are drawn though, as the brick lengths are different sizes so will change all the dimensions of your house if you change your mind later (which would mean a re-draw by the builder and a hefty charge to do so). Have look at your house plans and you will probably find that brick articulation joint has been missed.
