We had settled on plain ones for the laundry but they put in mirror ones by mistake. We let the builder know that we didn't mind but it was a mistake and he left them there. Re: Nice kitchen...not mine though... 23Apr 08, 2011 5:15 pm Judging by the fixing invoice I got today the kitchen stays? What about the bulkhead they ripped out? Fixed or not? Meeting on Monday, i'll keep you posted Re: Nice kitchen...not mine though...and we have an invoice 24Apr 08, 2011 6:58 pm Homer so was it your kitchen after all that you were talking about? Good price? Re: Nice kitchen...not mine though...and we have an invoice 25Apr 08, 2011 7:05 pm Love the responses here. If you don’t say anything, it will be noticed and found out about soon enough. Here’s hoping you get to keep it at your original kitchen price. After all, it wasn’t your fault. Everybody has a different view LOL I know they'll figure it out (I have a feeling he has as work on the kitchen has stopped ) I want to keep it, but i'm not going to tell them that just yet, i'll see what he says Casa2 Accept the better kitchen and then ask for compensation for giving you the wrong kitchen Thats what some people have been telling me to do 9am Monday is D-day LOL Re: Nice kitchen...not mine though...and we have an invoice 28Apr 08, 2011 9:08 pm One of my friends built a house a few years ago, they had really wanted wooden boards but opted for the tiles, due to the cost. They built a huge double story home, when they went to look through the window, as you do, there was a full house of the best wooden boards The builder contacted her a couple of days later and admitted the mistake, they asked if they would be willing to go halves in the costs "no way" was her answer. She moved in a couple of days later, and still has her beautiful boards, at no cost to her. Re: Nice kitchen...not mine though...and we have an invoice 29Apr 08, 2011 11:15 pm We had an incorrect sidelight installed next to our front door, and they took the incorrect one away at handover saying it would be 'raffled off to staff members' (I suspect that means the SS had a spot in his house he thought it would go well in ) Completely incorrect ordering happens all the time I think! ~*~Moved in on the 16th April 2011~*~ Re: Nice kitchen...not mine though...and we have an invoice 30Apr 09, 2011 9:57 am zoe's mama We had an incorrect sidelight installed next to our front door, and they took the incorrect one away at handover saying it would be 'raffled off to staff members' (I suspect that means the SS had a spot in his house he thought it would go well in ) Completely incorrect ordering happens all the time I think! unreal Re: Nice kitchen...not mine though...and we have an invoice 31Apr 09, 2011 10:43 am We got a water tap for the fridge that wasn't supposed to exist. S.S. decided it was too much trouble to remove it. Hope it goes well for you. Given that it was build to fit you might get to keep it as they will have to rebuild the other kitchen and remove this one. By the time they remove it , get the proper one and try and sell it off they will be out of pocket. I'd be mentioning it. If they take it out and replace it with what you finally agreed to in the contract you'd be devastated. especially if they say it got ditched. We also had stuff delivered to our place during the build that we hadn't put in our contract. 3 Whirly birds and fancy bathroom hand basins. Sadly they realised before they were installed that they weren't for us. Re: Nice kitchen...not mine though...and we have an invoice 32Apr 09, 2011 11:12 am Its amazing isn't it, the mistakes that are made. I can't believe it, surely everything is written on the list, like the ones that we have. Someone has made a mistake somewhere along the line and that is a huge mistake. We should have a public vote on it, and if they say they are taking it away, you can say "no, the votes in and we are keeping it". they might be shamed into letting you keep it then.
