I have learnt things I would never even dreamed of. Good luck with the build Katrina Re: First Time Builder 5Apr 01, 2011 6:08 pm Thanks! this is one of the best forums around for a newbie like myself Titles are hopefully being released next week yay! we are building in Brookleigh Estate Caversham small/med size block, 15m x 32m (480sqms) Wish i could have had a larger block but i have grown up close to the city so i guess it was our best option. We signed up with Impressions a few weeks ago as we walked through the Soto. Loved the layout of the house, it had the most open feel for our narrow block. Already made a few adjustments, larger rooms, storage space, and flipped the plan so the garage is on the right. added a second door to the garage so we can have side access out to the garden. not liking the kitchen too much though... any ideas there would be great Re: First Time Builder 6Apr 01, 2011 6:21 pm I actually thing the Soto had a nice kitchen. Have a look in the "show me your kitcehn' thread and see what colours/feature you like. Might want to think about: - adding overhead cupboards - replace cupboard doors with more pot drawers. - bulkhead in kitchen like display - waterfall ends on island benchtop - stone benchtop - upgrade splashback to glass or porcelain tiles etc etc Re: First Time Builder 7Apr 01, 2011 6:30 pm We got the rep to throw in granite kitchen benchtops, ducted aircon, stonewash paving (dont know what the diff is there) in the alfresco and down the sides of the house, aquacheck ceiling on the roof of the alfresco and larger (higher) windows in the living areas. but now i wish i had got him to add on overhead cupboards in the kitchen before we signed! ive heard after you sign they pass you on the prestart were you can easily blow your budget. I think because my husband i are both still quite young he was trying to rush us a bit. I also copied the kitchen of the Soto with the 28c ceiling in the kitchen and 31c elsewere but i still think its too 'open' your plan looks amazing btw! love the games room running off the living area Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 8933 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27303 |
