Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 31, 2011 10:42 pm Hi, I know Town Planning takes a long time. Ok. Tell me it takes a long time and I will be fine. But tell me that yeah I'll have it ready in 2 days and continuously tell me that for 3 months and I'll get ** off. Council has moved pretty quickly, Whitehorse, submitted plans at end of December 2010, was told to advertise 2nd week of January 2011. Received objections at start of February 2010. Look if they told me I had to wait another 2 months for them to sort things out with the objections that is fine. Instead they say it will be ready next week every week for 2 months and it gets annoying, because at the end of every week we call up expecting that it will be ready???? What annoys me more is that council has simply put the houses out to advertise without even looking through the submission at all (I assuming this) as when I call up council I don't think they have even glanced at the plans, and are merely putting all the submissions out to advertising so as to fulfill their 50-60 statutory day obligations I'm pretty sure once you get objections, council has all the time they want to screw you around to get their NODs, in which they have refused to meet in person to discuss, talk over the phone to discuss or even discuss at all. Does anybody know if council has a time limit now? Re: City Council Town Planning Victoria 2May 06, 2015 4:02 pm I believe that they have 90 days to make a decision from the time the application is submitted. The clock stops every time they seek further info or during advertising. After that, you can get VCAT to make a decision. I know my council don't fully review the plans until after advertising as they consider the objectors comments whilst reviewing the plans. Planning just suck! 3 1162 Give Jonathan a call.
