A number of requests we had this week were attended to very quickly by our consultants and Wayne our site supervisor has phoned both Fridays as planned with updates. Very professional and thorough. Plumber has been in and run piping for all our water and gas. Electrician has run cable for all those services. Brickies have pretty much finished on site. Photo shows the new brickwork over the garage door opening, looks good. Took a photo looking out from our alfresco showing the 2 storey house behind us. Also got inside that place and took a photo looking back into our house, trying to get an idea of what they can see and what we need to block out for privacy. Love that your alfresco is part of the slab. Ours got paved afterwards. Looks like lockup isnt far off Our Piazza 300 31Aug 25, 2011 7:23 pm We're going the tile route for the alfresco when it's done too. It was pointed out to us that too much dirt and crap can build up underneath if we decked over it (which we were going to do). Met the builder on site today to chat about a few things and the brickwork should be getting cleaned tomorrow. Can't wait to see what it looks like. Stoked to see the difference it makes and very happy with our selections. Still a bit of gunk on them that will need to be cleaned off but overall very happy. Above them will be cedar slats/boards, to match the timber front door and timber look garage door. Gyprocking starts on Tuesday. How long should it take from this point? We've been told we'll be in by Christmas but that's not very specific. Getting very excited! I love your pillar bricks, very nice. Built our Granton in 2010 Handover December 3rd- wooohooo! Now the hard work has began.... Retaining walls and landscaping Re: Our Piazza 300 35Aug 27, 2011 10:37 pm Thanks Danielle, we are very happy with it, seems to be a slow build but that's ok, quality is more important than speed.... (Although I haven't always been so rational up to this point, watching other houses overtake ours ) A bit of history, since despite my good intentions I have been very slack with my thread! 04/05/11- Site start 20/05/11- Slab poured 30/05/11- Frame 23/06/11- Roof trusses 30/06/11- Roof tiles 27/07/11- Bricks started Plumbing, gas, electric has been done although I can't remember dates. Insulation due to start Monday (27/08) Gyprock due to start Tues (28/07) Wow when I look at it like this they've taken forever Although we've had weeks of rain (although they haven't claimed that many), and just before bricks were meant to be delivered we were told they were out of stock . So options were either wait up to 2 months or choose others. Needless to say we are a family of 5 living out of 2 bedrooms, we chose new bricks, turned out to be a blessing in disguise as we are much happier with the new ones, and they're cheaper! I'm beginning to think impulse decisions can be the way to go, took me months to choose the old ones and a day for the new ones. Bit of info on colours, I have come to realise that the platform for your colours is usually 1 of 2 colour combinations, either black/grey/white, or brown/beige/neutrals. We are brown people so to speak. Outside Bricks- Austral Carlisle and Zinc being the piers (off white mortar) Roof tiles- Boral Vogue Charcoal Timber look garage door Stained Cedar weatherboards above piers below gutters Woodland grey facia and gutters Front door- Corinthian INFWS 6G with stained frame Inside This is not the same house as ours but htey are the same colours, the ligher colour will be throught whole house except theatre which is the darker colour. (Looks a bit green in photo but actually brown) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ These are our kitchen selections. (Bedrooms, kid's area and hall, theatre, study) Here's a list of our upgrades that I've coppied and pasted from another thread Simon was posting on: * Newport Facade upgrade * Upgrade to Austral Zinc bricks for some of facade * Off-white mortar to all brickwork * Upgrade to Boral "Vogue" flat profile roof tiles * Stained Cedar weatherboards to some of facade * Expression specifications upgrade (fittings and fixtures upgrade, includes adding cupboards, etc) * Promotion - all flooring through house for $5990 * Tile upgrades * Increase ceiling height by 300mm (9ft ceilings) * Added a window to the side elevation of the family room * Added a window to the side elevation of the garage * Cedar sliding doors between alfresco and family room * Cedar sliding doors between alfresco and principal suite * Cedar bi-fold doors between alfresco and dining room * Timber look garage door * Upgrade both baths to Stylus Newbury 1800mm * 20mm Caesarstone benches to kitchen, bathroom, ensuite and laundry * Upgrade front door to stained Corinthian INFWS 6G with stained frame * Upgrade to 600mm Gainsborough pull handle for front door * Dorf Neo sink mixer to kitchen * 19 extra double power points, 2 weatherproof double power points outside, 2 extra TV points and 2 extra gas points Our SS is absolutly fantastic. Only drama so far has been that we upgraded to 1800mm baths, but whoever drew up the plans didn't consider this so therefor they are a tight fit. SS has had us on site twice explaining this to us and giving us our options (even offered to move a wall to make more space, but we thought this unneccessary), we settled on wall mounted taps to save space, our "hob" will just seem smaller as the bath takes up extra room. But all worth it for a beautiful big bath Also tossing up our options to screen out the 2 storey behind us (pic in earlier post). There is a stormwater easement along the back but the guy at the nursery thinks we'll be safe with a couple of evergreen ash trees as they are non invasive and in our clay soil the roots will stay close to the surface. Any other options welcome though! Well that's all I can think of at the moment. Can't wait till it's finished!!! Our Piazza 300 36Sep 03, 2011 8:43 am Insulation in! Gyprock started to go in this week and will be finished next week. Had a bit of a hold up but on track now. Week after next we can expect the start of the internal fitout as well as installation of our front and rear doors! Can't wait to see how the cedar sliding and cedar bifold doors look out the back.
