Newer paints use a type of oil that yellows if not exposed to light & air. Especially if you have recessed sliding doors, keeping the doors closed (and thus exposed to air and light) will ensure they stay white. In fact paint that has yellowed can be turned white again with fresh air and natural light.
Strange but true. It's the 'green friendly' oils they use in paint these days that yellows.
type they used? If they used OIL based paint (and not acrylic (water)), then it's all that there is to it. Oil based paint in pure white will always yellow/darken, and very quickly so.
