Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 23, 2011 11:23 pm HI Everyone, We are almost at our goal of moving into our first house. My builders have informed me that they have connected us with Origin for electricity. We are currently with them and we have had no issues but I have noticed our bills have been slowly increasing. Not sure if this another thread on this, I did do a search but couldn't find anything. Who are you connected with for gas and energy and how do you rate them? Thanks for your help, I'm at a loss!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=40976 Aug 26/10 -Land settle Oct 1-Signed UE Nov 4 -Site Cut 22 -Slab 26 -Frame Dec 17 -Lock Up Feb 1/11 -Fixing Mar 31+Apr 14 -PCI cancelled Re: who is your energy and gas with??? 2Mar 24, 2011 7:02 am We're with Tru energy - I'm amazed at how cheap our gas bills have been - our house is triple the size of our old one and we have ducted heating now (Yes I have used it even though we have been in "Summer") and our gas bill is like a half to a third cheaper than the old house... I guess Solar hot water helps too - but I'm just amazed! Oh and we were with Simply Energy in the old house and my parents are with Origin and Mum was really surprised as to how cheap our bills are too! Go Switch - http://www.goswitch.com.au/?utm_source= ... bwoddAp2aQ Or 2. Energy Watch - http://www.energywatch.com.au/ Or you can go, use your last bill and compare rates of the energy providers that service your area. I was connected through origin via the builder (PD) as well and renewed with them but this time I get 10% off my electricity bill and 4% off the gas bill. They have been good so far hence why I did not transfer to another company. Re: who is your energy and gas with??? 4Mar 24, 2011 9:34 am If you're not on a contract, you can call up your existing provider and ask them for advice on how to disconnect your service .. they will put you through to their sales team who will offer you a discount (on a 2 year contract) to stay Or you can just straight out ask for a discount. Do compare providers though, you can get cheaper deals if you shop around. Make sure your maths is right and that you take GST and service charges into account. We are with Neighborhood Energy for electricity and AGL for gas. I was looking at red energy but I have read some bad reviews about them. I think we are going to consolidate everything with tru.
