Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 22, 2011 10:21 am Hi all, I need to make a decision soon on what colour I would like my render and eaves. I am fortunate enough that I can decide these things as we go and if I can decide before next week I will be able to paint the eaves before the are put up. I am having Ironstone colourbond roof, gutters, facia and windows. Two colours I have seen and liked for the render is colourbond sandbank and shale grey. I have decided on using dulux white duck on the internal walls. Is it better if the outside and inside colour schemes are similar? I am so confused and would be open to any suggestions. What colours have others used with Ironsone...pics would be fabulous! Sharon Re: Render colour opinions 2Mar 24, 2011 1:54 am I don't have photos but I am a Prestart consultant with a builder so I help people nut out their home colours every day. My suggestion would be the Shale Grey render with your Ironstone roof, as this keeps the grey toning consistent. (That's probably also my one sidedness in that I'm not a fan of Sandbank ) We also generally recommend matching your fascia to your render when you have a dark colour roof, it's just so your roof isn't too "heavy" looking, but you may already be locked into your choices depending on how far into construction you are. We always do our eaves in white. If you have a garage door with the above colour scheme, you could then do it in Surfmist, and to tie that in also do your front Entry door in Surfmist. It would give the home a "lift", with a variety of tones from off-white/grey/dark grey. Alternatively if you only have a carport with no sectional/roller door, I would do your front Entry door in Ironstone colour. In general yes you would continue the same colour scheme from outside to inside, to keep the flow of the home. Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply again. I had a chat with the builder, he said he will use primer, then hydrotec which comes with colour and sealer as well. I can see all the bumps… 0 7951 |
