Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 19, 2011 8:30 pm Hi everyone, I am very new to this forum and at the moment given 10% deposit for a lot in Carlingford estate Lalor. I am doing my shopping for a suitable builder (As the land is expected to be released in October 2011 I have plenty of time any way ) I would like to know whether anybody has tried constructing with ARB homes in the past? Are they good people to deal with and do they complete the construction in time with quality. I enquired about them but could not get much from my mates (so as no reviews are available in internet as well) I would really appreciate if someone can help me on this... Thanks and Regards, George Re: Building with ARB homes any experience?? 2May 16, 2011 11:38 am Hi there, Also curious if there are any updates on this question? Looking at the ARB Homes website and interested in some of the house & land packages and would be keen to hear if anyone has had any experiences with these guys. Cheers, Dave Re: Building with ARB homes any experience?? 3May 19, 2011 8:32 am Hello Guys I have recently contracted them with my investment property house due for completion end of June. I had referred to another person before commencing who was happy with the quality of their works and completion on time. I will post my experience in early July and let you know. So far everything is going to plan. Hope this helps. Re: Building with ARB homes any experience?? 4May 23, 2011 3:50 pm My friend had a bad experience with them. he was so upset when he ask me to visit his new house. As the saying "you get what you paid!" they are cheap! but in terms of their quality compared with others , ARB homes is not impressed at all and as far as I concerned, they only make living by put lots AD on the main papers and roads and their price is amaning that most builders can not offer. but for living by yourselves, I am really not going to recomend. Re: Building with ARB homes any experience?? 5May 23, 2011 3:54 pm Select a reasonable medium price builder .Do go to the cheapest. Houses are not clothes , if you donot like, throw it away. Poor quliaty, save a little bit at beginning ,but you lose more after years when troubles coming Re: Building with ARB homes any experience?? 6May 23, 2011 3:59 pm Thanks mate. Really appreciated. Anyway I have decided to go with a major builder (As you said can't take chance on this ) Once again thank you very much for the response Re: Building with ARB homes any experience?? 7Jun 16, 2011 3:38 pm I decided to go with a major builder and although I am very happy with the design and the fit out we have had a few ongoing issues. Metricon has come back several times to fix which is good, but I can't help but feeling these problems shouldn't have arisen in the first place. My daughter (and her husband) built with ARB Homes for their first home. 8 months on they haven't had any problems at all. The fit out is probably cheaper than other builders, but at the end of the day they haven't had any structural problems and they got a very good price. I suppose it all comes down to your budget and what your priorities are. Re: Building with ARB homes any experience?? 8Jun 22, 2011 4:34 pm Just built mine with them. I organised my 3months maintenence inspection with them to have a few items fixed and the maintenence contractor actually made these items worse and now I am having dramas getting them back to fix these certain issues. I work in the construction industry and am a qualified tradesman myself, I wasn't too impressed with their quality of work as compared with other builders I have seen. Hi All, I have been dealing with icare for insurance in completing our house after our original builder went bust. We have gotten to tender stage and one of the companies… 0 20745 11 40633 3 47360 |
