We have just extended ours an extra metre, out to 950mm, we're still at pre council approval stage (haven't got soil report back yet!) and still making a few modifications with the architectural drawings. We have also moved our house forward a metre, so it will be 8 metres from the front fence. As well as adding laundry cupboards, we also plan on going for a front loader washing machine so the cupboards will accomodate. Amanda Re: modified wild orchid / dechellis / SA - garden pics 484May 01, 2012 2:50 pm we gave all our appliance measurment diagrams to sampina joinery (fridge, dryer and dishwasher). i think the fridge cavity is 1m exactly, we also made the overhead longer so there wasnt too much of a gap above the fridge. are you getting a tap point behind? Re: modified wild orchid / dechellis / SA - garden pics 486May 01, 2012 5:08 pm AmandaC Thanks WO, I haven't thought of a tap point actually. Is this a good idea re ice dispenser fridges? We got one ... didn't cost much and we love the convenience of having cold water and ice whenever you want it .. well worth it IMO. Re: modified wild orchid / dechellis / SA - garden pics 487May 01, 2012 6:33 pm agree mclaren. amanda, you need to decide what type of fridge you want, even if its not till the future. not only for ice, you can get water only (which is filtered thru the fridge, so dont have to worry about puratap) if this is what you think you may have, def get the point now Re: modified wild orchid / dechellis / SA - garden pics 488Jun 07, 2012 2:32 pm i dont think i have shared my problems about the house next door! (i dont have any other updates on my house) ill try to do a brief run down (oh, the owners are lovely by the way, its just the builder!) this is all because the garage is on the boundary. We gave them 2 months notice before our dogs moved in, so the brickies started on the garage first, but only doing to as high as they could reach (they are on fill so the wall is higher because it goes down the slab) we even delayed our fence for a little bit to give them enough time to finish it, 2 months is a long time! but they still chose not to finish the top part of the brick wall. it took sterling 5 months and 3 site supervisors to organise a time to get access, one even knocked on my door and spoke to me about it, little did i know they were standing on our roof, doing it then and there and the SS was taking about a future time???? and where do you think the motar went?? all over our new exposed agg concrete. their communication skills are the worst i have ever come across, both me and DH have wasted time (some of which were time off work) waiting for tades to rock up, but never did. they ended up having to put up a scaffold, didnt come the day after the work had finished when they said they would take it down, which mean dechellis maintenance guy that came on the weekend couldnt fix a loose bit under the eaves. then the guys were non stop complaining when they came at 6:15am!!! to take it down, saying it wouldnt have been so hard if they could have had access on the side gate, rather than taking a fence panel down. ummmmm, hello, its not a gate, its a fixed panel!!(we do not access that side of the house), you wont believe how many times tradies have knocked on the door asking us to open the gate, thats a fixed fence! the current SS never returned phone calls and is extreamly rude. and the brick job was soooo bad, when the cleaner came, he thought it was going to be rendered! he said im a brick cleaner not a brick repairer! DH came home early from work to let him in, and he left saying i need 2-3 hrs on this. the next week he came when my mum was at my house and i was at work, she let him though, but said he didnt stay long. DH inspected the cleaning job and said it was ok i asked DH if the sealer and everything looked ok, he said it was, but i havent actually checked it myself, because i have to climb over the dogs kennel to get down the side, lol! DH is so over it though, so he just said its ok. then....... on tuesday they cut off our gas pipe!! now i know its not sterlings fault, but seriously this build is having so many problems!!! we got home from work late, DH was going to have a shower, and no hot water!!!! he inspected outside and found that our HWS and gas box looked all ok, then noticed next door a freshly dug up trench, and a new gas connection with that days date on it!! after many many attempts to try to get someone out, no one would at that time of night, the emergency line said they only do things like leaks and if there is a risk of it blowing up. yesterday we both couldnt go to work unshowered, and had to wait to someone to come and fix it. there were further communication issues with the different departments of the supplier and gas companies. someone finally came after 4pm. the guy from seychell that did next door the day before said he blocked it of not knowing it went to our house????? he said sorry, but sorry doesnt cover a days wage each! so i have sent a bill to envestra/apa now i just have to wait for an answer....... The others really have the "wow" factor but you have to live with it on a daily basis so may be too much .... Re: modified wild orchid / dechellis / SA-CURTAIN DECISIONS? 493Jun 25, 2012 3:14 pm +1 for the 1st one, I really like it! Don't worry about what your curtain consulatant wants, you love it & you will be the one living with it! I'm not sure about the other ones, only because I'm not a fan of the really shiny fabrics! We also have inverted pleats and the Evo track in the family room which looks modern so perhaps don't have pelmets in the family room ... Re: modified wild orchid / dechellis / SA-CURTAIN DECISIONS? 496Jun 25, 2012 3:24 pm at "too wow" I'm not the best to give opinions, I like simple curtains, I've got the same fabric in 3 different rooms just different shades I like your 1st option because it looks simple but on closer inspection it has a nice detail that's not in your face. Also even though it's a "rose pattern" it's not like it's floral or "old ladyish" I think it's still modern & will suit the rest of your home. The fabric might be able to be cleaned easier too. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: modified wild orchid / dechellis / SA-CURTAIN DECISIONS? 498Jul 09, 2012 6:10 pm I like the first one also. Clearly the consultant likes the others if they are more expensive, more money for them. Go with you gut. The first one feels warmer especially if it is for the family area where you will spend most of your time. Good Luck, I'm trying to work this our myself not easy. Re: modified wild orchid / dechellis / SA 499Aug 28, 2012 1:49 pm Hi, its been a while not too much to update, we decided on the second curtain, we are still waiting for that to be made for the family room and shutters for 2 skinny windows in the family room and our entry side light. we may go the 1st one most of you preferred for the bedroom or lounge. everytime i ask other people opinion, i never go with the majority.....lol. but i still love reading the opinions........so ive got another one for you all entrance light Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ we are also getting quotes for our front yard. one we got back was $1800 for 8t of kupunda bluestone plus bobcat, etc. we are still waiting on another company. i just dont know if i want to be spending that much on the front yard, by the time we add soil, grass, plants and piping/sprinklers. we dont HAVE to have rocks, we could lanscape with the slope, but it would look nicer with. got a shocking power bill, so now im looking into solar panels. anyone recommend a company??
