Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 02, 2011 6:10 pm Hello! My partner and I are building our first home, the roof is now up and electrical, cables, etc is underway. Very exciting! I wanted to ask if anyone had used Solver "Designer White" on their doors or walls. We have chosen Designer White for our doors and wanted to see what experience other people have had with it...We want white, just a paper white, with no yellow/pink or blue undertones, etc... The girls at Solver said we could have also chosen from WA White or Paper White.... I'm confused now as our pre start office said Designer white was the whitest white... So many whites!!! My worst fear is a yellow white or creamy / brown white… Does anyone have any pictures of Solver Designer white? Thank you Re: Advice on Solver "Designer White" Please help! 2Mar 02, 2011 6:19 pm welcome to h1. congrats on your new home. are you going to start a thread? I have no idea re the paint!!! just wanted to welcome you, with your first post!! Re: Advice on Solver "Designer White" Please help! 4Mar 02, 2011 6:42 pm ha ha, this is actually a Thread... ie help me with paint etc lots of people start up a thread re their building experience (like a blog but on home one) I have one below..in my signature. you add photos, tell witty stories and just be jolly! usually plans go on that thread too... just a way for people to follow your build, I am looking for white too, for my trims, ceiling and doors, but will prob go with 1/2 black white, a resene colour cos the painter said it was better than alabaster! which probably means nothing to you as resene is a kiwi brand Re: Advice on Solver "Designer White" Please help! 5Mar 02, 2011 6:43 pm ps lex on here seems to be a wiz re paint. check her out in 'finishing touches' forum pss here is the resene range of neutrals in oz http://selector.com/au/suppliers/resene ... ls-fandeck im going for thorndon cream walls, 1/2 black white everything else. it is a white with black in for better coverage and not so sterile Re: Advice on Solver "Designer White" Please help! 6Mar 02, 2011 7:18 pm Hi there We actually used it on the walls of our last house. Re: Advice on Solver "Designer White" Please help! 8Mar 03, 2011 12:03 pm ooow, yes you must! you need to use photobucket or www.tinypic.com and copy the 'share forum code' over to here, you cant just add them shout if you get stuck Re: Advice on Solver "Designer White" Please help! 10Mar 03, 2011 2:25 pm We got it on our doors and it looks creamy to me compared to the white plaster. Re: Advice on Solver "Designer White" Please help! 11Mar 18, 2011 12:58 am Hi Elly, I have used Designer White for doors and used half strength Tulip White for the surrounds and skirtings,(to provide a bit of contrast) looks great. It is very white, no red or yellow or black in it when they mix it, just a shot of super white. Solver have a white paints colour chart, which is where I chose my colours from. Best of luck, Rod Re: Advice on Solver "Designer White" Please help! 13Mar 23, 2011 3:20 pm Hi Elly, We used Designer White or the doors, trim, walls and ceilings and are very pleased with the colour, although it did require a 3rd coat, extra $$. Sorry I don't have any pics but I think somewoman also used it on her house so you might find pics on her blog. Re: Advice on Solver "Designer White" Please help! 14Mar 23, 2011 3:22 pm We have chosen Designer White for our skirting, architraves & internal doors also. Hope it will be ok! We will be having 'parchment' on all internal walls. Going neutral for now. We'll move in and if we decide we want some different paint colours we'll do it later. Thanks for the insight. Pretty surprised that anyone would do this to a regular customer. They are probably in a comfort zone with you for too long.
