Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 301Aug 02, 2012 12:39 pm Breaker, if you are building the manhattan with ensuites you really need two hot water heaters one either side of house. One side will do two upstairs bathroom and kitchen and downstairs bath and the other will do the other upstairs bathrooms and laundry. If you are using instantaneous then you will struggle with one large one.(is that what wisdom recommended?) We have a large and a medium for a four bathroom house. Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 302Aug 02, 2012 3:55 pm Breaker Thanks for the info Cass, Its interesting to note that your downstairs toilet leaks (ours also, although we dont have possession of the house yet). I'm hoping that our hot water service is sufficient as we took Wisdoms advice and upgraded (we are building the manhattan with ensuites. What exactly is happening to your outdoor drainage? I noted when the frame was going up that a pipe had been damaged and filled with rocks by the carpenters. I mentioned this to our SS who assured me that everything would be fixed!!! Now I'm not so sure... Breaker Breaker, did you upgrade to 2x instantenous ? Mine also has 2. Well, it's because we have 5 bathrooms... We also will have problem cause our outdoor pipes are filled with rocks. I'm worried this will be a potential problem after handover... Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 303Aug 02, 2012 4:02 pm Outdoor drains have been fixed but guess what. The plumber found today that they had forgotten to connect the storm water to the main. So hence why we have a super soggy puddle out the front. It was found that when pulling the toilet off the inside neck of the pipe had a small crack. Di lorenzo specialist cleaner came today to inspect. He has agreed the tiles are in poor condition and it will take 3 men and a full day to professionally clean them. Kitchen guy came out to check and two kitchen cupboards and a kick will be replaced. Still waiting on stone bench person Good thing we now have our gates so our back yard is fully fenced with locks. We are going to start the outdoor work this weekend looking forward to preparing for turf and prep ready for pool completion. Step by step we are making progress. Annoying thing is though painters can't come until next week. Urrrrrgh Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 304Aug 02, 2012 4:04 pm They removed rocks from pipes. What happened to our other two was they had gotten snapped and then covered with soil. Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 305Aug 02, 2012 9:23 pm Their plumber are not reliable... Huh.. Must really keep an eye on them... They also install an unnecessary plumbing pipe in my laundry that they didn't remove after that.. So it's still hanging behind gyprocks now... I emailed Wsdm & they're so smart not replying my email but only called me, SS said the pipe was capped off, but I'm not convinced that it'll be leak free in the future... Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 306Aug 03, 2012 7:07 am Thanks everyone, now I'm worried about hot water systems... As we dont have mains gas, we have ordered the larger solar boosted system, hopefully it will work!!! Might have to ration the kids shower time!!! How did everybody discover they had blocked pipes? I'm concerned as the damaged pipes I say are now under the drive way, out the front of the garage!!! Cass, sorry to hijack your thread. Regards, Breaker Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 307Aug 03, 2012 7:20 am Cass, Did Wsdm plumber tested all the pipes , water etc, and run the water for 3 hours? Cause that's what SS told me yesterday when I said I'm concerned with the rocks & cement inside the outdoor pipes. Thanks. Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 308Aug 03, 2012 10:21 am Not sure about testing the pipes. Unfortunately there are lots of little things I am finding since moving in. Wisdom are yet to reply to my latest email. Breaker I found the cracked pipe in the early stages and we kept note of it. But the ss is slack in getting things fixed. Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 310Aug 06, 2012 8:02 am G'day Cass, Did you have any trouble with the builder regarding shelving in you pantry? We put a bench in one side of the pantry with a second sink (upgraded) and we have been told that we dont get shelves on the other side!!! We are still waiting to hear whats going on... Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 311Aug 06, 2012 10:51 am Breaker I would like to know what happens with this as I am doing something very similar in my pantry and I am expecting the shelves on the other side to remain there. I am only at tender stage so I have not reached the point of that detail being defined. Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 313Aug 06, 2012 5:31 pm Just had a call from the builder. They are going to put shelves in, even though they are not supposed too... (according to them). My advice to you Buda is to lock them in at the tender stage!!! As I said previously, I will never build again!!! Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 314Aug 07, 2012 9:45 am I dont know how they can claim that they are not supposed to include the shelves. Using their logic if I changed the carpet in the rumpus to tiles for example then they would delete the carpet from the rest of the house. Yes, I will have a talk to them during the tender and get it documented there. Re: Wisdom Majestic - Handover tomorrow...fingers crossed! 315Sep 04, 2012 1:03 pm The other night I did a massive post with lots of pics and then it did not upload... grrrr So I might do a few at a time...
