Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 10, 2011 11:54 am Hi, I am very new to researching the costs of a knowckdown/rebuild. I need to work out if we can afford to build before making an offer on a property. I have looked a bit on the internet as a start and picked out a few random companies and looked at their project homes. I have a few questions and not sure if any of you experts out there can point me in the right direction. What are generally the inclusions and exclusions? When budgeting for a knockdown/rebuild, how much extra needs to be budgeted for above the price guide? Are there any companies that are recommended (if allowed on this forum)? - we don't want cheap finishes, but not top of the line either. Are there any companies that are good for using if views from the house are possible? Please point me in the right direction to an old post if these questions have been answered many times before. Thanks in advance, Summer Re: Where to begin - can we afford to build? 2Mar 10, 2011 12:01 pm Summer, welcome to H1. The search function is your first stop. There are tens of threads like yours that can answer your questions. Also some posters will be able to assist you but it will be easier if you advise us roughly where you are located. ie NSW / SA / Vic - or even more info if you are comfortable providing it - ie City / Suburb. Have fun searching through the threads - you will find heaps of information, sometimes more then you first thought you needed. Some things are worth waiting for. Ardo That is so funny!
