Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 07, 2011 8:45 pm Hi everyone building on Settlers Run. I had an email tonight from a friend who already lives there and to my horror one of her little dogs was killed by a snake last Thursday (apparently they are all over the golf course), its a bit off-putting and I was going to have a few lessons as my DH plays but I have only played mini golf. We were meeting up to play on Sunday but I just went to practice on the driving range as she didn't turn up, I can see why now. Her house is opposite the Club house and her garden backs onto the first hole. What do you all think - are there preventative measures to stop them coming near our new homes???? Re: Settler's Run 2Mar 07, 2011 11:11 pm I know that area quite well. I wouldnt assume that there is any greater reason snakes would be there than anywhere else in cranbourne, yes there is long grass... but also nearby to the clubhouse there is lots of traffic and people. Probably just bad luck. As far as i know snakes tend to be more prevelent around waterways. EDIT: The best source of info is to talk to the people in the clubhouse, go in for a beer or a wine and have a chat, they will soon let you know if its a problem, there have been residents there for at least 4 years now. 2nd EDIT: RIP to the dog, that really is awful, poor owners! 7 6249 I had a similar issue with my fridge not too long ago. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 7515 |
