Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 07, 2011 1:01 pm Hi All Our build started on end January. We received a letter from CSC claiming “8 days extension of time due to rain previous days or the effect of rain previous days” Our contract already allowed 10 days for weather. Is this extra on top of contract provision?? We are on 6th week and they want to claim EOT? We do not understand the reason behind… slab pored on 24th and framing complete today. Do they need to proof with rainfall data from Melbourne water? Any thoughts before we decline this claim Thanks in advance Moved in 25/6/11 Re: Extension of time due to Weather 2Mar 07, 2011 1:39 pm It will be in your contract that they are allow to apply for XX days increase due to weather. Chances are they won't need to use them, but they will apply for them just in case. By the time they get the roof and Walls done, weather doesn't really become an issue for most jobs anyway. Don't stress on it. Re: Extension of time due to Weather 3Mar 07, 2011 2:33 pm Better to allow them 8 days now (It's been the wettest "Summer" in a long time in Melbourne) rather than have them push for 20 later. You won't be getting any money back for the 8 days anyway since they'll bring up the fact they asked for it early in the piece. Let them have the 8 days. it won't make much difference anyway.
