Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The Noodle Family Preston - Painting, tiling, and PCI?!? 221Nov 09, 2011 8:39 pm Cassie! I am sorry I haven't been on for a long time - it tends to happen once you are in and settled in your new home! I can totally understand how you are feeling, I had days on end where I just could not believe I was going to be living in this amazing house and the towels I had saved for a year were actually going to hang on those rails in the massive ensuite! As you can tell - I am STILL loving it and you will too so embrace it and enjoy the moment- it's real and about to happen!! So excited for you! House looks just gorgeous! x Re: The Noodle Family Preston - Painting, tiling, and PCI?!? 222Nov 09, 2011 9:40 pm Kelly!!! So good to hear from you! It's been too long, our house is nearly finished rofl.... I'm so glad to hear that you still love being in there, I'd hate for it to wear off too fast How has your place been going? I'd love an update with your landscaping pics if you'd be so kind! PCI at 9 am tomorrow morning! Absolutely nervous right now. And then we find out that DS1 has outgrown his swimming clothes before the excursion tomorrow morning. Eeeeek!! Guess he's wearing his pe shorts instead because I have no hope of getting him to the shops, to school, and then back to the house by 9! PCI comes before all tomorrow, we have worked sooooo hard to get here. Cassie 28/7/11 - Slabbed 15/8/11 - Framed 19/9/11 - LOCKED UP! 6/10/11 - Kitchen in! 11/11/11 - It's all OURS! My DS had aquatics last week and it was a mad dash to buy new board shorts too the night before! However, not when I was bout to have PCI! OH that is so exciting!!! I hope it all goes really really well Cass! x Re: The Noodle Family Preston - Painting, tiling, and PCI?!? 224Nov 11, 2011 1:52 pm added some landscaping pics on my thread for you! Re: The Noodle Family Preston - Painting, tiling, and PCI?!? 226Nov 13, 2011 1:10 pm mrsroc So Cassie, how did PCI go? Well, PCI went amazingly well! Very little to complain at structurally, mostly cosmetic fixes which are already mostly done... So due to our general satisfaction, and the current need to give notice on our rental, we opted for handover on Friday afternoon - and Friday night we met friends at the house and celebrated!!! It's all ours and we couldn't be happier! So far I have booked removals, piano mover, floors & carpet, aircon internal, data cabler, carpet cleaner for the rental. Still to book are a skip for the final cleanup here, HWS, stove delivery & installation. Concrete is organized through our landscaper but I need to get an exact date out of him! and things like council for the bins, and phone connection. Promise that photos will come, but honestly not much has changed from the last lot, except that it's much cleaner lol.... We are moving boxes into the laundry and some of the cupboards but have to wait for the floors which are going to take a while... But it's all happening! Of course the moving truck is booked for 8 am the morning after our eldest DS has a huge concert at school, but such is life! I'm not likely to sleep that night Cassie 28/7/11 - Slabbed 15/8/11 - Framed 19/9/11 - LOCKED UP! 6/10/11 - Kitchen in! 11/11/11 - It's all OURS! Re: The Noodle Family Preston - we have keys!! 230Nov 15, 2011 3:51 pm Thanks everyone..... yes, not enjoying the packing so far. It's a little while before we can move in because of the floors etc, so at least we can take our time with it. I had to add this one in though. Sooo happy to finally have a clear view of the front without the skip, the porta-loo and all the rubbish laying around.... Although the old pallet stays, just in case it rains some more http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b93/HillsCass/Edited-5635.jpg More interior photos to follow later, I promise. Re: The Noodle Family Preston - we have keys!! 232Nov 20, 2011 5:12 pm Thankyou Annette Not that we've had time to admire the house much this weekend.... We've spent the entire weekend filling up a 3cu m skip, and turning THIS http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b93/HillsCass/Edited-5654.jpg Into THIS!! http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b93/HillsCass/Edited-5670.jpg Cannot wait to be out of this place, even doing the landscaping from scratch won't be this back-breaking. We are on 1/2 an acre here, and it's just soooo much work to maintain. Especially with the crazy weather we've had that has helped everything grow like mad! Getting the skip was just the best idea we had though.... it would have taken forever if we had to keep stopping to take trailer loads to the dump, and as we don't have a trailer, we would have had to pay hire as well as dump fees. This meant we could just work non-stop for 5 hours. Ouch. Anyway, I took a couple of shots of the house when I was there last week. The data cabler went through (Hi Pugs!) and did all the wall plates etc, and the next day the Air-con internal grilles etc were done. So it's creeping ever closer. Kitchen cupboards, all pretty! http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b93/HillsCass/Edited-5650.jpg Main Bathroom, which we are using at the moment for when we are at the house http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b93/HillsCass/Edited-5649.jpg Ensuite frieze close-up, because I love it! http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b93/HillsCass/Edited-5647.jpg One side of the ensuite vanity with some doodads and knick-knacks. Not properly decorated yet, but it will do to make it feel like a house and not a building site anymore! http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b93/HillsCass/Edited-5646.jpg Definitely counting down the days until the moving truck arrives. We have SOOOOO much going on between now and then, it's going to be a crazy mad rush at the end, I am sure. At least the garden is ticked off now!
