Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 06, 2011 8:16 am Quick question every one: I think my house is pretty much finished because they have taken away the site bin and have done a site clean. Should I be worried that they haven't contacted me yet regarding PCI? When did you all hear of your PCI date? I saw higherdestiny had a date from when their kitchen was put in, before paint! Re: At what stage of building did you get a date for PCI? 2Mar 06, 2011 9:26 am I don't know what's considered 'normal' but we had an awful PCI process. We received an E-mail on the 27 December with a notice saying we had reached practical completion and that our final payment was due! It wasn't exactly the best timing because the building company had already closed their offices for the Christmas/ New Year break and didn't resume work until mid January so there was no-one we could contact for any queries. We were told in the E-mail (as per the contract) that we had 5 days to respond in writing with our list of Practical completion items and if we didn't then they would consider everything finished (which in our situation certainly wasn't the case) It seems that every builder has a very different process! I hope yours is more positive than ours! At what stage of building did you get a date for PCI? 3Mar 06, 2011 12:28 pm We rang our ss last week when we noticed they had almost finished the painting. Our ss only said our house would be ready not this week, not next week but the week after that and would contact us then. We wish we rang sooner as we thought we has 6 weeks left not 3 Re: At what stage of building did you get a date for PCI? 4Mar 06, 2011 12:33 pm Thanks for your replies guys, I guess I just really need to know how much notice they give you until the meeting, I'm hoping it's at least one week notice.
