And yes they go much faster than Rups' black ones. Did you end up getting that bed from the block? I put the shop link on your blog, not sure if you saw it. The shop's stuff looks amazing. Hey Leanne, yes thanks heaps for that! i saw your comment just then. I asked on Shannon and aaron's page as well where they got it from! great minds! I haven't worked up the courage to go there yet. It would be just my luck that i would have to sell my firstborn in order to get it...haha...but how awesome was it?? We're starting to do a bit more of the price investigating for things like the driveway and all the major buys for the house. Went to the homeshow on the weekend and got so many ideas for paving, blinds and the driveway, but it was good to walk by the house stalls - coz i got me a house already! We think we will stay in our rental for about a month after handover to get everything done. We have 2 little dogs, so need to get fences done. Also one of the dogs has 3 legs so need to get the landscaping done, so it is nice and flat for her. Don't want her struggling with mud. We are doing our flooring after handover also. Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 324Jul 20, 2011 11:01 pm Hi everyone, Another concern I have in regards to our ventilation for the powder room exhaust fan, as per BCA requirements that ' contaminated air from a sanitary compartment must exhausted directly to the outside of the building by way of ducts', so does our powder room suppose to have a plastic flue to vent the air to the outside? I've emailed my SS and CSA but no reply as yet, anyone have any idea? I got the BCA requirement details from NHI sample preplaster report on their website. cheers pup Waldorf 44 Sales quote: Jan 18th 2011 Tender : Feb 24th 2011 Colour & Electrical: March 9th 2011 Contract: March 24th 2011 Site start: May 5th 2011 http://ourwaldorf44.blogspot.com/ Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 325Jul 20, 2011 11:16 pm puppyso Hi everyone, Another concern I have in regards to our ventilation for the powder room exhaust fan, as per BCA requirements that ' contaminated air from a sanitary compartment must exhausted directly to the outside of the building by way of ducts', so does our powder room suppose to have a plastic flue to vent the air to the outside? I wouldn't worry about it. Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 326Jul 21, 2011 10:34 am Hi tstr1a, Thanks for the comment, its good to know. I was just worried they might have missed it. We should be plastering soon after the defects are addressed. Another thing you should do if you haven't already done so , is to take close up photo's of your footpath/nature strip before construction. They might get damaged in the building process which PD will address at the end of the build if it wasn't damaged prior to construction. cheers Pup Waldorf 44 Sales quote: Jan 18th 2011 Tender : Feb 24th 2011 Colour & Electrical: March 9th 2011 Contract: March 24th 2011 Site start: May 5th 2011 http://ourwaldorf44.blogspot.com/ Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 327Jul 21, 2011 10:40 am puppyso Hi tstr1a, Thanks for the comment, its good to know. I was thinking the same as PD hasn’t yet put any protection over the crossover. Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 328Jul 21, 2011 10:52 am Just wondering if anyone got the price to upgrade the 1st floor ceiling to 2740mm instead of the standard 2440mm? We are way past the stage to change but was just curious, I remembered it was only $1500appx, but my BH said it was way more than that. We're kinda regretting not upgrading if it was not so $$$. I was considering increasing the height but thinking through the logic of increased ceiling height, aesthetically it looks nice but so expensive to heat and cool. That’s why Eskimos have small igloos.. LOL Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 330Jul 21, 2011 6:02 pm tstr1a From memory is about $3,500 - $4,000. That’s why Eskimos have small igloos.. LOL lol, True, I think that was another reason why we opted for the standard instead of upgrading. Cost $$ to upgrade then it cost more $$$$ to run heating and cooling. It would be nice to have a money tree!! we can have what ever we want Waldorf 44 Sales quote: Jan 18th 2011 Tender : Feb 24th 2011 Colour & Electrical: March 9th 2011 Contract: March 24th 2011 Site start: May 5th 2011 http://ourwaldorf44.blogspot.com/ Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 331Jul 23, 2011 9:17 pm bricking's all done and the house is all locked up! yee haw! now for the guts of the house..hehe...bifolds look bewdiful (even unstained) and really happy with our external colour selections (good teamwork Rob!). Our bi folds still need to go up & sheeting on bk & we will be at lock up. I think u have overtaken! Lol Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 333Jul 27, 2011 2:21 pm Woo Hoo! Our home is finally materialising. Today Procon are onsite preparing the base with foam, mesh and under slab insulation ready for the slab pour which will happen tomorrow. The weather forecast is sunny with clouds in the morning and should and is an ideal day for pouring the slab. I can't believe how much progress has happened so far and it’s all very exciting as now we get to see the size of the house and how it sits on the block. After excavation around the perimeter of the site to level the ground It looks like we'll have a little less garden than anticipated at the rear of the house but as we have plenty either side I don't think this will be a problem. The standard on ours was 2590mm and we had to upgrade to 2740mm as part of the state covenants, but we also had to change the roof pitch to 25degree instead of 22.5, the overall cost was $5300. It is not broken down in the contract. Hi trstr1a, I’m so excited for you too. It must be a great feeling to see, at least the shape and layout, of the house so you can really start to visualise everything, and with now knowing how much garden space you have to play with you can start planning.
