Some of the labels for the rooms aren't right (Theater is not a store) but were still waiting for final plans I'm building on a nice 1 acre in Plenty, Victoria. Don't know if it's the 80sq one but it must be close Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4983Sep 14, 2014 6:34 pm lol thats massive.....I do wonder though, the jewel of the home is always the kitchen, but it's in the centre where there's no direct sun light at all. Don't you think it'll be a little too dark like in a dungeon? Don't you think it'll be a little too dark like in a dungeon? There is a 3m window in the dining not shown in the plan, all the living areas are north facing and heaps of windows for sunlight. Being on an acre up on a hill there is nothing covering north/west sunshine. Also it's not clear on the plan but the kids room walls are only 1 metre dwarf walls so full light can come in I'll upload the top floor in a sec. Shows my wifes dream WIR ! Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4987Sep 14, 2014 7:28 pm That "Retreat" is one MASSIVE WIR! Don't let her use that as an excuse to buy "more" shoes/clothes hahaha Thanks for sharing BTW... BIG house. To late, It's already started Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4990Sep 14, 2014 7:41 pm Bahhahahahahha +1 Deefeez Would prefer to build an Englehart home if I was gonna spend that sort of $ Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4991Sep 14, 2014 8:15 pm deefeez46waldorf http://www.chartattack.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/umad.gif Yes a little It is as close to our dream home as we can get. My father has parkinson's and will be soon living with us, so will be a full house eventually. Filthyfil Bahhahahahahha +1 Deefeez Would prefer to build an Englehart home if I was gonna spend that sort of $ Would have loved to build with them but it was out of our price range. I Found the Marriott design to have everything we needed and Porter Davis have been fantastic so far. Hopefully start building Nov/Dec if all goes well. Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4992Sep 14, 2014 8:29 pm Filthyfil Bahhahahahahha +1 Deefeez Would prefer to build an Englehart home if I was gonna spend that sort of $ Englehart is $30-$40k per square whereas PD would be $10-$12k per square. You wouldn't be able to build 70 squares for under $1m with Englehart. Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4997Sep 14, 2014 9:46 pm If u hv nice views, hv u thought about having a terrace over the alfresco? That's one of my should'ves. would've been good to have it open from the retreat (or WIR in your case). Can't imagine it would cost much more considering u save on roof tiles. We have an upward sloping block and did think about the balcony but our main views are on the sides and front. Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 4999Sep 14, 2014 10:23 pm I'm still looking thru your plan. Might take all night its that big. Lol. My extra 2 cents... Watch out for the man hole in bedroom 4. If it ever gets used, the clothes in that WIR might get a bit dusty. Also, we switched the shower and toilet in bdr 2. In case u ever want to fit a cavity sliding door there.
