It has been superseded by the SP535I Where are you putting 17 outlets?... I be interested to know as PD advised that they were quite strict on where outlets went. That's a pretty good price in comparison to what we have been quoted.[/quote As we are building a Chadwick 41, I'm not sure how much our duct positioning will help you - but we have 2 in master/retreat, 2 in upstairs activity/hall, 1 to each upstairs bedroom, 1 ea to bathroom and ensuite , 1 ea into downstairs study and guest room, 2 ea lounge and rumpus, 1 kitchen, 1 dining and 1 laundry. Counting them up, we have 18 outlets over 4 zones (sorry DH did this bit, I'd forgotten about the extra). And we had to pay extra to get an additional void to plumb an additional outlet (No 18) to the laundry so we can create a drying room. We organised our quote directly with the supplier. I'd suggest taking directly to them but positioning is dependent on voids for ducts to traverse. Good luck! Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7989Aug 05, 2015 12:18 pm MichaelQ Sorry, no evidence. Overheard a building inspector. I saw our PD tiler on site last week. He had been waiting for our extra building variation waterproofing to dry - he noted that full waterproofing is now standard to all new PD builds on upstairs bathrooms.. What was the alternative solution? The 'alternative' solution can be seen in the PD contract documents, and is that basically you are required to always use a bathmat. Not sufficient for our house, particularly with young kids. I really wanted a floor drain too, but they wouldn't do one for me. Build blog - http://hasslingthehoff.wordpress.com/ Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7991Aug 05, 2015 2:32 pm sure there is a detailed explanation on this forum, basically they don't waterproof the entire floor, believe the alternative solution allows them to waterproof just the the perimeter. As a result you need to be very careful not the wet the floors as per Pungentia's comments. ------------------------------------------- Build Thread - Mainvue Emporio ER430 KDR https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76790&p=1332227&hilit=mainvue#p1332227 Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7992Aug 05, 2015 3:46 pm Been a long time since I posted here, my refrigerated aircon just got installed today. My SC was the one who recommended I get the aircon installed after handover actually, said it would save about $3K. This has proven to be true, originally I was quoted $15K+ for PD to do the add-on cooling for me, instead I paid about $3K for PD to set everything up for add-on cooling to be done after handover (upgraded, wider, ducting, upgrade to 3-phase power, external power point for outdoor unit, etc), and the supply and installation cost $9K with Dale Air (21kw system) Things to note: we changed our Marriott design a bit, garage location was reversed, so the fuse box ended up quite far from the heating unit, the installers didn't have any issues just needs to be noted. Not sure if manhole can be increased in size, we didn't think of asking at build, would've made install easier (possibly cheaper) as a manhole over 50cm x 50cm would allow them to take the coil up through there rather than through the roof tiles. External power point needs to have an isolater as well. Also, with the size of the house, the cooling can only handle one zone at a time (our zones are first floor and ground floor) Saves money, but takes more time and effort to track down quotes and organize installation. Did you go with Brivis or something else ? Can you also PM me the details of your cooling system as well ? Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7996Aug 06, 2015 8:20 pm Hi everyone. We just had our internal heating unit replaced (MX35i/SP535i) with the correct one, HX35i. Just to let you know, they appear similar and I can't see any labels to distinguish the two different units. Hopefully the order is correct this time around. It will a gigantic pain to discover this after handover with the ceiling and everything else in place. Re: Building a Waldorf or Marriot by Porter Davis 7997Aug 06, 2015 10:01 pm Hi Everyone, We had our Day 1 of WOS appointment, even though we thought we were prepared still it was overwhelming. We are just getting stressed about structure of tender appointment, will appreciate if someone could advise how tender document is structured (by room or category e.g: tiles, electrical etc) and how is the process run. Any insight would be great. Hi Newbie How you realize you have been given the wrong unit then ?( if both model appear similar and there is no labels to distinguish the two different units) I am starting to worry about my HX35i now - which I always PRESUME to be the correct one and never ever did checked. I've just checked my last weekend and there is a big sticker on it that says HX35i. You also get it in the brochure / manual that comes with it. As for the question someone asked about how good the add on cooling is... it's like living inside a fridge! I've previously only had evaporative cooling and this thing is amazing. It's really loud from the outside though.. poor neighbours. But yeah, we had it on during Feb / March this year when it was 35+ degrees and it worked really well. Highly recommended.
