I have already moved in there but there is no gas connected & no hot water system. I have been told by PD SS that it is because they haven't been able to get response from Origin energy gas. Very frustrated . Is it normal as I still haven'b been told when it will be connected by SS or BC. Very frustrated . Is it normal as I still haven'b been told when it will be connected by SS or BC. gas companies take 3 days to connect the meter. you should request that they provide you with alterative accomodation (hotel) until meter is installed. they shouldn't have given you the house in the first place. Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 696Nov 28, 2012 1:58 pm UGH!! What an awful morning... turned up to the site, slab pouring about to commence and saw the tradies FRANTICALLY trying to fix the mistakes from the inspectors report. Why they didn't fix it yesterday afternoon (after the rain) I don't understand. Not happy at all. Now I have no way of knowing if the issues have been fixed or not as I had to leave for work before I had a chance to check it. My SS was so kind to answer the phone at 7am to help make sure everything is fixed .. anxious wait now Re: Building a Waldorf by Porter Davis 697Nov 28, 2012 2:38 pm jnkbids UGH!! My SS was so kind to answer the phone at 7am to help make sure everything is fixed .. anxious wait now It will be fine. Congrats on the slab, it’s the start of your dream house. Don’t panic as the fixes won't affect the structural integrating of the slab. Concrete grade, even thickness, ground preparation, reo placement and tie in are the important components to get right. The slab need 28 day of curing before it reaches 98% of its strength. This means that it needs to dry out slowly, and extreme heat (like tomorrow) is detrimental to the curing process. Thank god for light rain on weekend and the temp will be in the low twenties all next week. I am here to help if anyone feels the need to contact me but if you are in the process of building, I must stress that your SS and BC should be your initial contacts, as they have first-hand knowledge of your specific build. I wish you all the best ma2531 and hope you have many happy years in your new home. Cheers, Helen Porter Davis Homes Questions?
