Hello and cheers for the advice. That's a good plan with the downlights. I believe our bro from Bendigo has posted the specs for PD LEDs and they have lower specs (lumens and beam angle).
So you have regular downlights installed and will change them to brighter/higher lumen LEDs post hand-over? How much are PR charging for the LEDs compared to regular downlights? I did a quick search on Beacon lighting and they have a good range of brighter LEDs.
Only too happy to help! Yep. Plan is to hire an electrician to install downlights upstairs and change over the cheap ones downstairs. It's harder to install the downlights to the ceiling downstairs after handover so that's why I've got PD to put theirs in so that all the wiring is already there and there's enough clearance in the ceiling.
I've read that bright green (http://brightgreen.com/au/) are pretty good but they are ~$100 each just for the light. The other brand I've come across is Sunny Lighting (http://www.sunnylighting.com.au/downlig ... -list.aspx) which are half the price. Haven't started doing the research into this yet so would be great if anyone has other recommendations!
Would it be possible to get a 8 data point pack and add a few more or do you need to get a whole new package altogether? That would throw a spanner in as it's a few grand more!
No, it was either 8 or 24 for me. That was 9 months ago for me tho so not just if there's any change to that stance with this new WoS setup.
The switch that you mentioned - is it a way of managing devices as in one ethernet cable into the switch, which is then connected to several devices (TV, media players etc)?
ye it is just a box with network ports that everything plugs into.
No worries. Here's a link to my electricals selections and also my network layout.
Something to also decide before your appointment is where all the light switches will be placed and how the LEDs will be grouped in each room (eg. separate switch for lights at front of room and back of room). I didn't do this and this was the biggest drag in my appointment.
Another tip my electricals consultant gave me was to put a downlight over the vanity mirror for girls and their makeup.
