jnkbids let us know how this plays out. When you asked for the balustrades to continue all the way and received your detailed staircase drawing, was there any mention of extra cost for that specific staircase design?
So much for management looking into the issue... A phone call to advise me they will "look into it" and several days later....PD has made the decision to charge me $3370 for the "draftsman error" and passed the cost of fixing the staircase as per the specifications on my contract plans ie balustrades to the top of the stairs. As I expected... How convenient for them to just over-ride a plan drawing and put it down to a "mistake" ... Funny how a contract error is always in their favour. When asking for a variation, their answer is "No, things must be built as per the construction plans" yet when they make a mistake, I have to pay for it....
I am so sorry to hear this jnkbids. Can you take this further, if it is in the contract (regardless of a drawing omission) and you have paid the extra you should get. Keep fighting for what you have already paid for.
