Can't wait to see the splash back.
Hope the tradies all manage to work around each other on Monday, shopping sounds like a good alternative

Tomorrow is handover and we have the following trades coming through over my NEW FLOORS to fix things: plumber to fit appliances, connect the heater and sort out the drains as the previous tiler effectively blocked them with grout and crap appliances and aircon arriving electrician to fit feature lights, install downlights in ensuite and connect phone lines and cables chippy finishing off painters - lots to do tilers - lots and lots to do kitchen people (fixing drawers) glass guy putting up the splashback and our 16 year old site supervisor (only joking the hysteria is setting in ... he must be 22 at least) and builder adding to the chaos lol ... and all our stuff is arriving. Oh it is going to be fun ... DH has gone to bed hoping he can survive the day. I'm so excited I don't think I'll sleep. We never do things in half measures ![]() ![]() Re: BUILDING update 552Sep 07, 2008 11:15 pm Dy, fingers cross for you that everything goes well tomorrow ![]() When we moved in last Friday, we had the splashback going in, plumbers checking gas line & a couple of other little things, electricians finishing off & they all took their shoes off ![]() When my Dad, brother & DH were moving gear in, they all took their shoes off each time as well..... Be thinking of you... Re: BUILDING update 554Sep 07, 2008 11:39 pm Quote: The carpet is Quest 100% wool called French Toast (twist pile). Dy, Just realised that we have the same brand and colour of carpet.. Only difference is that ours is a patterned one - but same Quest 100% wool in French toast colour (for the bedrooms). It must be very exciting for you.. I wouldn't be able to sleep too if handover is the next day.. Bad news is that the drains are all blocked. Plumbers arrived today to fix the drains and realised that there is no sewerage connection. So they are now in the process of digging up all paving and driveway so they can complete the 1ST FIX PLUMBING ![]() ![]() We went to unpack more of our belongings (yes we are unpacking furniture as it all arrived yesterday) only to find raw sewerage all over my new floors. Builder has given us the go ahead to move in as everything has arrived. Just popped in here a second as I am meant to be taking back the blowdryer so the SS can dry the water that has seeped in under the floors (where the kitchen meets the floorboards). Next port of call will be an abusive phone call to the bank ... we are paying inspection fees and clearly they haven't been doing them!! Note to any self respecting person undertaking a new build GET AN INDEPENDENT BUILDING INSPECTOR ![]() Its not all bad ... the sun is shining ![]() ![]() ![]() I hope the builder pays for the driveway to be fixed ![]() ![]() Re: BUILDING update 559Sep 09, 2008 2:07 pm Oh I don't know what to say...... ![]() ![]() ![]() At least it'll be fixed. Hopefully there's no damage to the floorboards. ![]() I simply don't understand how the sewerage isn't connected... ![]() ![]() I've got nothing but.. ![]() ![]() ![]() Jo ![]() I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself.
