Browse Forums Building A New House Re: BUILDING update 182May 04, 2008 9:38 pm They've finished rendering and most of the painting except feature colours on the front. I've had a go at colouring in the front porch to see how the Murray Red will look.
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj229/DeeElle66/P1010140_edited-1.jpg We were wondering if the render colour at the front blends too much with the Dune roof as there will also be a Dune roller door and front door. Hopefully the red and jasper will break up all the light grey tones. http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj229/DeeElle66/P1010158_edited-1-1.jpg Considering whether to change the roller door to Jasper so it matches the balcony or repaint the main areas d/s Dune. We're are still looking at dark charcoal paver for the driveway and pathways. Re: BUILDING update 184May 05, 2008 11:29 pm hmm not sure Paula
We're not that happy with the main colour but we'll wait until the rest of the colours are added to see if we like it. Otherwise they will be repainting the whole house ![]() Re: BUILDING update 185May 06, 2008 9:12 am ![]() hmm not sure Paula We're not that happy with the main colour but we'll wait until the rest of the colours are added to see if we like it. We have eaves, gutters, roof, external painting is finished, wiring is complete, aircon ducts are in and solar panels are on the western side of the roof. External render is much grayer than we anticipated but we have become accustomed to the colour and now love it. Monday they will finish off the roof and eaves and then they will start on the internal linings /gyprock. We've had a few issues with the kitchen and we are now considering the attached colours with the Murray Red splash. These kitchen cupboards colours are black and light grey (zinc). http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj229/DeeElle66/image_17_thumb.jpg http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj229/DeeElle66/image_15_thumb.jpg Will post pics and update later in the week as we don't have a lot of access to the internet. new colours 190May 11, 2008 9:05 pm Dee Elle I'd love to see what you do with the new colours in your kitchen we've chosen zinc works for cupboards as well with a dark black/ grey granite type benchtop. It's called graphite and is a qstone colour.
CAn you post a larger size of that picture a few posts up from here. I'd love a better look at it./ Re: BUILDING update 191May 11, 2008 9:22 pm Hi kexkez
It won't let me post a bigger pic but you can go directly to the site and have a look at the cupboards www.amerind.com.au Which brand are you using i.e. zinc works? Sounds like we are both going for similar combos. Cheers colours 192May 11, 2008 10:23 pm Dee Elle
'Zinc works" is laminex We've also picked out some silver grey 300 x 200 tiles to go upright as splash backs. They look very glassy. I'll post a pic on my blog of the tile once I can get a tile sample. The tile place is getting one in for me when they do their next order. We then have the absolute stones q stone "graphite" for the bench tops. ATM we are having "copenhaven" cork flooring, steel electric under bench oven but a black ceramic? cook top. We've also got jarrah stained wooden capping along the main kitchen bench top ~300mm above the bench top. (1 row of the splashback tiles) I'm hoping the jarrah and cork will be ok with the rest.. DH suggested black kickboard around the base of the benches or a very dark grey to go with the benchtop. But in the end we've left it all as Zinc works. Oo now i've looked at the large pictures I can see they are the one with the metal framing cupboards. Very nice. Re: BUILDING update 193May 14, 2008 12:23 am New pics of the house

we think the rendering is terrific. DH was a bit worried as he sees a lot of render jobs that are not great but they have done a very good job on the house. today its off to make final decision re: the kitchen. I'll post pics on final kitchen soon. Its been give and take on both sides but so far it has worked very well. It has been worth the expense of going with a boutique builder to have a good relationship at this stage of the game.
