Yes we are glad the neighbours seem very nice. And the kids get along well which is a bonus. How long do you think before the roof is on P??

Dy, our builder did a frame inspection first... Once approved the tilers turned up within about a week to commence the prep work for the roof tiles...

Hopefully the weather will remain fine and there are no delays getting your roof on. :wink:

I'd say 1-2 weeks tops. But don't take it as gospel...you know these builders!!! :wink:

yes ours seems particularly slow but we don't mind too much as long as he does a good job.

We seem miles behind you and VJ even tho' our slabs were poured at similar times. Your guys are really moving it along.

Bit of trouble today as our Agent told us we need to move out of our rental in two months. :shock:

. Owner is returning and wants to move back into the house after they told us we could be extended :evil:

We've asked the builder if he can have the build finished by end April.

Do you think it is remotely possible to finish a two story from our stage in 2 months??

I love the large eaves on your place DeeElle, the build seems to be moving along very nicely. Did they give you a completion date? Our place is well behind schedule but a colleague of mine had her house completed in 18 weeks with no delays or rain days either, so fingers crossed for you.

Is that timeframe negotiable??? See what you can do to talk the landlord around... maybe a little bit longer...an extra month of a few weeks shouldn't be that bad...surely????
Hopefully your builder will be able to pull it all together within that timeframe???

Let us know what happens???

Builder said he will see what he can do. We have sent an email to the Agent asking for an extension (even offered to pay more rent) but the owner wants back into the house beginning May. I doubt we will find a place that will allow us a lease for two-three months with animals in tow.

I can't stand the idea of lugging our stuff around two more times.

Okay ... deep breaths ........

We also purchased our clay pavers which were on sale this w.e.. Not to everyone's liking as they are not large format, but we like them

Just been told by the site supervisor that there is a hold up with the the windows so the build has stopped until they are delivered ... hopefully by end of this week. SS told us they will try and complete the hebel the following week and roof should be up in 3 weeks. :shock:

Houston we have a problem.

FINALLY the windows are starting to be installed - never mind the 5 weeks of delays, promises made and broken. The builder is just as frustrated with the window distributor as we are. The bifolds should be arriving tomorrow.

First lot of lower level windows were installed today. Hebel should start tomorrow. We decided to match the bedroom window with the upstairs windows (right)

It looks great!!! The bottom windows now actually match the others around the house too. Glad to see that they are back on track again!!!

We're looking for something different for our splashback in the kitchen and have come across lumicor products .. resin panels that can be used in a variety of applications including splashbacks. Just in case we would probably put glass behind the stove and match the rest of the splash in the resin product. Here are some samples.

But the others look interesting, I can imagine them looking good in the right setting .

It is a stand alone permanently mounted resin product that you put on the wall ... you can have the same thickness as a normal glass splash. The advantage is that you can pretty much put any material you like into the resin product to create the effect you want. The downside is that the manufacturers recommend you don't use it behind cooktops; so you would have to put glass behind the stove and colour match the resin product on either side <if you get my drift>.

Just slightly more expensive than a glass splash - around 550 sqm.
