Browse Forums Building A New House Re: BUILDING update 301Jun 15, 2008 7:33 pm oh Paula I love that house down the street. Absolutely gorgeous. Re: BUILDING update 302Jun 15, 2008 7:42 pm Yep, some very lovely houses in your street
I love the jasper around the balcony and the contrast with the murray red. I think the dune garage door looks fine. I like the sandstone thingy - would look fantastic around a fireplace. Can't wait to see pics of your kitchen Dana -------------------------- Building with DFH - carpet installed! Re: BUILDING update 303Jun 15, 2008 7:49 pm Really love the contrasting colours of your facade...
and I agree with you, your panel door colour looks great with the other colours... Also like the houses in your street. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: BUILDING update 304Jun 15, 2008 7:54 pm Kryten Yep, some very lovely houses in your street Can't wait to see pics of your kitchen Hmmm ... yes I can't wait to see the *^#@!+* kitchen either . I'll see if I can get the name of the sandstone. The builder on the site said it was expensive but it must be cheaper than regular sandstone ??. In my dreams. Re: BUILDING update 306Jun 17, 2008 8:52 pm Met with our SS on site today. Kitchen has arrived and is ready to be installed on Monday. Tiling starts tomorrow.
The SS has agreed to let our guy in to install the wooden floors prior to painting. Floors will be delivered and installed week after next. Handover date has been set for 4 weeks today. DH has been told to proceed with site prep and stormwater so paving can also commence prior to handover. Electrician will be in next week so we need to organise our light fittings so he can install them when he is on site. Wow, you are lucky!!!! How I wish M would allow us to do that... It won't be long now... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: BUILDING update 309Jun 17, 2008 9:18 pm Paula Wow Dy, your on the home run!! Its great that your builder is so flexiable with the floors. I talked him into it ... but shhh don't say anything Re: BUILDING update 313Jun 30, 2008 1:19 am Building + DL = topic to avoid in our house . Things have not been going well. Tradies are taking wayyy too long and there have been a few mistakes that we are picking up on the way. Not all of them can be fixed now . Kitchen will be in this week apparently . SS now says 4 weeks or maybe even 6 b4 handover . Relationships are tense atm. Tiling is moving ahead even tho' they used internal tiles for the porch. So this will need to be sorted out betw. the boys. DH & I have different ways of dealing with the negotiations which isn't helping matters. Women are from Mars and men are from Venus in the building game . IMO the end stage is the most stressful part of the build, as you start to see things evolve and go back and check plans from a year ago because you can't BELIEVE you would sign off on a plan that had 3 doors opening into one another . Re: BUILDING update 315Jun 30, 2008 10:13 am Sorry to hear that Dy , was wondering if something had gone wrong, 'cause I know you will post photo's as soon as kitchen is in
I know what you are saying about the final things - our kitchen has been *half* in for a month now Hopefully we'll both be done soon & celebrating!!! I keep telling myself it will be worth it in the end........ Re: BUILDING update 316Jun 30, 2008 12:30 pm Yikes Dy - so sorry to hear about your dramas
I hope that your kitchen is installed this week as promised, and the builders fix your other items of concern. It's nearly there, they just need a cattle prod up the backside to finish it! I'll keep my fingers cross for you Dana -------------------------- Building with DFH - carpet installed! Re: BUILDING update 317Jun 30, 2008 2:34 pm Thanks Paula, Jo and Kryten
Worse thing is that I have to change my leave as there is no point going on holidays if the house isn't ready. The mess it has caused at work is unreal. Anyhow I'll try and put a brave face on .. seems like there are a few of us being sooks on HO atm . Re: BUILDING update 318Jun 30, 2008 9:13 pm Dy,
Sad to hear about the stress you're experiencing at the moment... let's just hope that you get your house as promised (quality and timeliness)... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping!
