We're having tiling done at the moment and they are wanting one of our keys so they can let themselves in and out... I wasn't sure what the norm was with this. Is it safe? Does it put my insurance at risk? Would YOU give a key to tradies?

I wouldn't give a key to a tradesman. I spend 3 days sitting in the house babysitting the tiler. Needless to say I was completely fed up with it by the end. We gave our tradies the code to our front door (no keys needed, electronic code only) as we then changed it immediately once the house was completed. Some things are worth waiting for.
