We're very close to signing with Burbank to build the Stoneleigh, after we have demolished our current house. I've been making a list of all the 'extras' that we will need to factor into the budget on top of the house contract price. Can anyone see anything else that we've missed? Contingency Removalists Storage for furniture Rent Abolition of Electricity and Gas connections Plumber to disconnect water to front water meter tap Demolition Electricity Supply Pit Site costs including slab, piers, retaining walls Building Permit - Council Special Dispensation Fees (if required) Asset Protection Permit House Contract Price (includes Termite treatment and all floor plan upgrades, heating and cooling) Independent Building Inspection Driveway Light Fittings Carpet Timber Flooring Allowance for upgrading tiles/fittings/etc Allowance for additional power points/light switches/TV points/outdoor lighting/etc Landscaping Curtains/Blinds Electricity, Gas, Phone, Internet Reconnections Paving/deck Letterbox Security doors Washing Line Thanks, brom Re: Are we forgetting anything? And I thought the builder would cover the construction insurance? We'd just need to take over when we take ownership of the house. Am I kidding myself? So much to learn ... I had an old shower unit that broke on me and when I took it off, there were only 2 water pipes, instead of the normal 2 water pipes and a shower head pipe.
