Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 27, 2011 1:45 pm This was mentioned to us very briefly by one of the sales consultants that we spoke to. We're in an existing area with overhead power lines and it was mentioned that most builders will now only build with an underground supply pit. Does anyone have a very general idea of what this would cost, and how we go about organising it? Ive searched the SP Ausnet website but haven;t found much info. ta brom Re: Installing/organising an electricity supply pit 2Feb 27, 2011 4:23 pm The link to an application for an underground power pit for SP Ausnet is here: http://www.sp-ausnet.com.au/CA2575630006F222/Lookup/Supply/$file/30%2d4013B.doc Should roughly cost you $800 for the pit, + the distance between the pit and the nearest power pole. Approximately $40 per metre of line. Ours was ~$1700 for the pit + 16metres to the nearest pole. Also a suggestion is to ask for 3 phase power to be connected to the pit; it's only ~$100 extra. It'll be ready for connection even if you don't need it for your house in the immediate future. Best of luck! Guess who's going out to measure the distance to our nearest power pole tomorrow That's a fantastic result! Happy you got it sorted out. cheers Simeon 6 8630 Thanks for that, the PVC pipe is still about 40cm below ground level and it sticks out of the sand with no end cap or anything on it just open pipe, is this the finished… 2 9530 Hi everyone!
