Wow love the driveway and those curtains look devine!!!
We need custom out the back and might give them a go!
I'm surprised the builder couldn't do larger mirrors?..
What are your plans for the outside?..

Next house we build we will make sure they take it into account. Its weird they ddint do a bigger mirror? Ours is a double vanity and they did it the whole way??? Maybe Fairmont changed it and will only do certain size? Anyway, hope you are enjoying your beautiful home Re: Building the Monaco ~ Fairmont Homes ~ After handover PI 424Jan 30, 2012 10:34 am Nice to see your progress ... curtains are great! Re: Building the Monaco ~ Fairmont Homes ~ After handover PI 425Jan 31, 2012 8:22 pm dct, I'm sorry to say it’s not french doors in the bedroom. jessie87, I think the builder could’ve gone wider with the mirrors but they wouldn’t go taller. We wanted them tall like we’d seen in some Hickbotham display homes. Ashkate, not sure what our plans are for the front yard. We don’t want any lawn out front but we’re yet to come up with a good design without it. For the backyard, we have more of an idea. We’ve made a start by putting rubble where the paving will go. There’ll be a lawned area in the middle surrounded by a paved footpath. My dog likes to run circles when it rains and he actually has been using the rubble path we’ve laid so hopefully, he’ll keep doing that and not wear a path into our lawn when we lay it. There will be a veggie patch next to the clothesline. We’ll have garden beds in front of the fences. They’re the same in bedrooms 2 and 4. We found one curtain maker, Julan, who was willing to install ready made curtains and rods. This suited us as it reduced the cost. Also, DH isn’t handy so he didn’t want to install the curtains himself if we didn’t get custom made. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ordered our other curtains for the living/meals area on Friday. I can’t wait to get them! I just want to see them up. We’re getting curtains with pelmets over the sliding doors and meals area window. Roman blinds with pelmets around the bulkhead. It’s a 4-6 week wait. Bugger about your fridge and dishwasher - its really upsetting isnt it. Anyway, your house looks fantastic - hope you are enjoying your new home. Our curtains were installed in the living/meals area this week. It seemed like such a long wait – almost 7 weeks. I tried one of the bigger curtain companies as they were the cheapest - $5K- but they took a lot longer. I love the look of them. One small hiccup – the roman blinds were drawstring and not chain track so they had to be sent back. I’ll be interested to see if they charge me for the change. I know I’d asked for chain track but it doesn’t say anything on the quote. And they’ve made the quote impossible to read with all their codes that mean nothing to the average person so I didn’t pick up the mistake. They’re much cheaper than Crimsafe and I love how they give a good view outside (although not such a great view at the moment ). Re: The Monaco after handover ~ Fairmont Homes ~ Curtains 434Mar 29, 2012 3:36 pm We've got a 10 year old border collie cross and she's pretty good in the garden but there always seems to be one spot that she likes to dig - we don't have a back garden at the moment to worry about though and we've taught her not to walk into the rooms that are carpeted - we started that when we moved into the rental so we wouldn't have to clean the carpets ... she's a clever girl! I think I got about 8 quotes in the end and finally settled on the Fielders Centenary product. It took 9 weeks from when I first ordered the pergola till when they were able to start (including council approval). From what they’ve told me, it should take about 4 days to install if the weather is good. Before Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ After day 1. It looks like not much has happened but this is after a full day of work. The installer said the first day is the slowest as there's a lot of fiddly work to be done. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Day 2 and the frame is up…plus there’s drama. The pergola was sitting closer to the fence than we’d anticipated. One of the posts was going to be 1cm from the fence and another was going to be leaning against the fence. The gutter of the pergola was actually sitting above the fence but apparently, that’s legal. Well, the neighbour was spewing about how enclosed her property was by our pergola. The neighbour on her other side has a couple of pergolas sitting on the fence line and now ours on the other side was too much to bear. We like our neighbour and don’t want to upset her, plus to be honest I didn’t really need the pergola to sit that close to the boundary. So we got the installer to cut it shorter so it now sits about a foot off the boundary. It’s not much but it is in line with where the garage gutter already sits next to the boundary and we haven’t heard any complaints about that. So that’s added half a day of work. When we had our pergola built the installer advised us to show our neighbours the plans and get their sign off which they sent onto the council which helped to speed things up, plus it meant happy neighbours ... glad you were able to sort it out though. Re: The Monaco after handover ~ Fairmont Homes ~ Pergola 438Aug 29, 2012 5:33 pm That's very good of your installer mclaren. I wasn't told that when it is built on the boundary, the installer would need to go onto the neighbour's property to install the infill panel in the gable and the flashing around the gable. I just laughed when the installer told me today As if our neighbour would let him do that!! Thankfully, our neighbour is a lot happier now and is cooperating in regards to access from her property. I think she just didn't think we cared.
