Would love to see updated pics if you've got any, and how good to live in is your new home? Would you change anything? Re: Bought a block in SA-I'm back, moved in pics! Build from 562Oct 24, 2013 7:23 pm Hi McLaren, I will have to take some new pics and put them up. We haven't had the garage sale yet but the house is mostly set up now. we have curtains, floor coverings, light fittings, just received our new settees for the media room and have a front garden. The main thing still to do is to buy a shed/garage so that we can sort out the main garage, a bit of fencing and to finish landscaping the back of the block. We are undecided as to whether or not to get a pool, so the landscaping will have to wait a bit longer. I'll try and remember to take photos tomorrow. In regards to any changes, yes, a couple of things. I would have got different wet area tiles as the ones we have don't have a sheen on them which make them harder to clean because the mop doesn't slide across as easily. That's something I think the sales consultant at the tile place could have mentioned as I didn't think of it although I do like the colour of the tiles and I just use the mop that only uses water like you do, so it's not too bad. (I can live with it.) I wish we had made the study/4th bedroom bigger. It's not tiny but it is my craft/sewing room until one of my sons move out and that could be a while yet and it's JUST NOT BIG ENOUGH for all my stuff , at least, not so that it's neat and tidy with a spot for everything and easy to find things when I want them! We tossed up whether to get an extra room but felt it would be wasted once the boys move out. Mostly, I am very happy with it, love the outlook and quiet serenity when I get the chance to sit outside and enjoy it, which will be more often as the warmer weather starts. The hebel and double glazing and insulation work well together so we don't need to use the heater/air cond as much. How are things with you? https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Bought a block in SA-I'm back, moved in pics! Build from 563Oct 25, 2013 7:54 am Hi - thanks for the update ... we all seem to disappear from H1 once we move in and get on with living in our beautiful new homes! We are also disappointed with the floor tiles in our bathrooms. They never look clean and in the right light you can even see footprints where the tiler I presume has stepped in some sort of solvent and left marks ... it's very disappointing but as you say we live with it and nobody else would even notice. I saw a thread the other day about someone who bought an above ground pool for a good price but then when he asked H1 people what else he needed it soon added up to a fair bit so it's a big investment but if done properly looks fab and worth it if you are going to get the use out of it. Look forward to seeing your pics - take care. Re: Bought a block in SA-I'm back, moved in pics! Build from 564Oct 27, 2013 7:27 pm Hi Dream Welcome back. What a shame about the floor tiles...but conversely that would make them very safe -non-slip! I do love the colour you chose, so warm. Glad you are starting to have time to enjoy your surroundings and where you live, that is a big part of a successful build too Re: Bought a block in SA-I'm back, moved in pics! Build from 565Jan 15, 2014 10:03 pm Hi DCT, Just read your whole thread. Love your design and your house. We are in the process of designing our house - also a long thin house and looking at ADH for quotes. Read your thread for inspiration and the lovely light at the end of the tunnel. Well done. Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down.
