Hi all,
In a brick veneer house - is the purpose of wall studs mainly to give you something to hang the gyprock on?
I ask because between my laundry door and perpendicular wall I have a 70cm stretch of wall in which I would like to put a dog door - I've marked it in red in the pic
I am 90% confident that the cut out for the dog door will fit between the studs - but if it doesn't - would it be safe to remove the stud?
(In case you're wondering why we aren't putting a dog door in the door itself - toughened glass in the glazed door - can't be cut, can be replaced for about $600 then CrimSafe screen door on the outside - another $300 to put a door in it. A door in the brick wall will cost me about $200 and a case of beer for a brickie to cut the hole in the wall)
