Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 821Oct 31, 2008 8:20 pm WOW! WHAT A HOUSE!
Your kitchen is absolutely awesome, particularly the bench top! In the whole scheme of things, you have very little wrong. All the best for the minor issues you have. The lights around your mirror in the ensuite should be an easy fix; they will have to patch the holes above the mirror once the lights are moved and then re-paint, but at least they don't have to paint an entire blank wall or anything. Best of luck for handover! Geoff - Decophile. Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 822Oct 31, 2008 8:21 pm VJ.... most of it sounds relatively minor... so should be easily fixed. Fantastic they are moving the lights over the vanity.
It all looks wonderful..... BUT when are those floor tiles going down? I haven't forgotten... Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 823Oct 31, 2008 8:23 pm Great to hear they will fix the bathroom lights and the cladidng joins! Keep at them to change the HT light switch; you have proved in the past that persistence pays off. It all looks great, including the kitchen!!! Beautiful bench top. With the inspection - hmm it's a hard one. If they won't fix anything that's not major, then you would think maybe it isn't worth getting Kev in again. But like you said what if you have missed something major? What major things might have come up since the pre-plaster inspection?? I have no idea Sorry, not much help Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 824Oct 31, 2008 8:38 pm Thanks guys,
Quote: Vj regardless of the bits and pieces that need to be done......It all looks fantastic. My fave is your kitchen and bathrooms.......beautiful........ gweluphome, kitchen is also my fave part of the house... I've been wanting that thick Mink benchtop (yes, it's not white, which is a fave in this forum, but I really love olive greens ).. and finally it will be mine!!!!!!!!! The first time I saw it on one of M's display home, I fell in love with it. And I wouldn't settle unless I get the same thickness as the one in their display home. Yes, we paid dearly (for the cat2 & thickness), but it's all worth it. By the way, SS said that we might have the settlement on the 14th of November! Just in time for the deadline of tile delivery... Quote: It all looks wonderful..... BUT when are those floor tiles going down? I haven't forgotten... Yes joles, i haven't forgotten that you've been waiting for our floor tiles to be laid! As per our tiler, he would be able to finish tiling the ground floor within 6 days. Meaning, we would be in before November ends! Donuts, it's hard to get Kev these days. He was fully booked today, and could only do it late in the afternoon, which wasn't possible for us. Hope you get Kev on time for your final inspection. Quote: Keep at them to change the HT light switch; you have proved in the past that persistence pays off. Yes, donuts. The only remedy for this issue to be settled is for them to put another switch inside the HT room. Eager, That's what SS told us, easy to fix. As long as it's based on plans, they will fix it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping!
