Looking forward to seeing more pics soon!!! Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 42Jan 06, 2008 5:25 pm VJ we were sent a framing invoice from our builder before xmas.. i still havent paid it..I ring up the bank and ask them to arrange a draw down over the phone they do it straight away and the builder gets paid.
im going to be sneeky and ask the bank to draw the funds for the framing after the 11 of jan as the first interest payment is due on that date. That way i hope i wont incur extra interest until next month. Money is going to be tight from now on Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 43Jan 06, 2008 9:29 pm Great progress VJ

Money is going to be tight from now on hehe.. i will have to check our contract to see how many days are we allowed before interest is charged.. better to maximise the number of days that our money is in the bank (so lesser interest is charged as we have mortgage offset account).. and pay a day before the due date. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 54Jan 08, 2008 8:22 pm Unfortunately, our CSR rang me this afternoon to tell that building works will re-commence on Monday... not yesterday!
I was in a middle of a meeting with our manager, so wasn't able to comment about it... I just said... 'ok' to finish the conversation. Then I realised that it wasn't what she told us before Christmas. Anyway, very disappointed about it......... but I just looked at the positive things.... at least they gave us a slab before Christmas... and it's curing nicely. so.. will give you an update on Monday.. with some photos, I hope. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! You're ahead of us! It must be exciting to see your house with bricks after a few days.. (i wonder how many days to finish the brickwork of a house). Will definitely follow your progress too! Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 60Jan 12, 2008 9:52 pm We went to the block today hoping that the materials for the framing has already been delivered.
Unfortunately, not yet. We had a walk on our slab.. noticed that our garage has 3 very fine cracks. We extended the garage to include a mud room and we're going to put in porcelain tiles (same as the rest of the house) in that area. Wonder what's gonna be its impact on our floor tiles in the future. Also, is it normal to have fine cracks this early? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping!
