did u get your other light fittings for after handover? any good deals? cheers Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 722Sep 23, 2008 10:43 am Hi VJ. Can you tell me if your garage door opener has a chain, or does it have a screw thingy down the middle?
Also, What model toilets are those? Thanks! Greg Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 723Sep 23, 2008 10:54 am All looking great, VJ. Hopefully they can quickly and easily fix all the things you aren't happy with!
I think you can pull the garage door down manually to have a look at it, then put it back up.....but maybe you should ask more of an expert before you actually do that!!!! Can't wait to see those new bench tops in! See that rope with the red handle attached to it? Pull it down (sometimes their a spring loaded deal, or sometimes they snap and hold) and it releases it from the opener catch. You can them close manually. You can do that open or closed. Greg, sorry, i didn't really look into the garage door. i didn't even notice that it was already installed. DH was the one who told me. i was more interested with progress inside the house. re: the toilet suite, they are Fowler's Newport... 4WELS rating.. close coupled. we like it because of the high WELS rating and easier to clean (the whole back is pressed against the wall). Saw your blog... yes, looks like you're building a 3-car garage with 4 bedrooms , thus, the name of your blog. That's a huge house! Quote: Wow VJ -there isn't much to do at all! Can't believe they put the dimmer switch outside the room! Love it all though, it looks fantastic. Sharee, don't say that... joles also put a light switch outside a room she has a valid reason for doing it... though not for our HT, as we need to dim the lights from inside. and look at the location of the switch! really hoping to get the keys soon.... very minimal issues so far and all looking good! Emailed our CSR today and she already forwarded our issues to the CM, as our SS is on leave. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! That's a huge house! Thanks, we like lots of room:) That's always the joke, that since I'm American and everything is bigger in America, I need to have a big house. And, since I actually originally wanted a garage that's bigger than a house, I named the blog aptly:) My wife's family is always saying we're building a great big garage with a little bit of house around it. Hey, actually, we're building a 2 car garage and excercise room. Our council does not allow 3 car garages;) I actually wanted 4 cars, but the width and fall of the block doesn't really allow for it unless I put just about all living space upstairs. Then I would have had to have a double garage and REALLY big excersise room;) Greg Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 731Sep 24, 2008 2:45 pm VJ, just caught up on your progress... YAY...
Hope you make handover date, or that if not ... it isn't far off. Also, It looks great, but agree that the downlights and dimmer switch... I'm be bothered by that too! Hope its all fixed ASAP. Re: Building our dream home.. walls no longer bare! 732Sep 27, 2008 11:05 pm Hi guys,
Just a quick update. We went to the house and saw that the temporary railing to the balcony has already been removed... as well as the temporary fencing! Yoohooo!!! Then I noticed that the flyscreens had been installed... as well as the perimeter termite protection... though the kitchen benchtop is not yet in. So we reckon, handover is soon....... Not yet done are: - balcony railing - front door handle - internal door handles - kitchen benchtop - kitchen appliances - fixes to the issues that we raised hmmm... what else? can't think of anything else! hope handover is this coming week! delivery of our sofa is Oct 6 hope to get the keys prior to that, and hope after the floor tiling downstairs is finished! will post photos tomorrow... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! If M are the same as PD you won't get your appliances installed until a day or 2 after hand over. As you all know, our SS has been on leave since.. I think last week. We emailed all our electrical issues, but the CM said they were all based on the plans. We are going to dispute this though... just looking at all the plans emailed to us prior to construction and found out that the draftsman accidentally moved the location of the HT light switch... so we'll definitely dispute. And by the way, we are scheduled to have a walk thru on the 15th!!! Yeepee!! They're going to clean the house this 9th, so we have to ensure that the electrical issues are fixed before that day. Went to the house today, the only thing changed were the downpipes.. they were all in! Kitchen is still bare.. no benctops at the moment. Might post the photos I took last week... later today or tomorrow.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping!
