Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 21, 2011 2:54 pm Hey guys, after our walk-through with the site supervisor yesterday there seems to be quite a few things which have been incorrectly done (builder Raws*n Homes). We gave him the amended light provision plans before the electrician came in however it was not attended to.. and now he stated that it would be too messy to change it.. Plus our plans state the bathroom mirrors should go all the way down to the vanities however it has tiled edges.. there is a bunch of stuff but wanted to keep the story short... can we be compensated for things they don't want to change.. and for the people who have, do you get a fair amount? Your SS says it'll be too messy to change the lighting - so what!?!? It's not your problem how messy it is to fix it. If it is in your contract, or requested via Post Contract Variation etc, then they have to do it. And if it leaves marks on the ceilings (or wherever) the old incorrect light points were, then they have to fix that too. Builders are quick to bind you to the contract when it's in their favour. You have the right to be just as strict. Re the compensation, I have no experience so I cannot offer you any advice on that.
