Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 10, 2007 1:30 pm Hello Everyone,
Well it's done! For everyone considering Adenbrook I say go ahead! Some people have mentioned they couldn't afford Adenbrook but we found that many "extras" from others were inclusions from Adenbrook and that the quick timeframe to build saved us heaps on rent and stress. I thought the price was well worth it when comparing to others in our area. Another couple in our estate went with another builder and spent $20K less than us. They are still at frame stage 6 months later with the bathroom vent hole in the slab in the bedroom and the kitchen drain in the loungeroom. They also have the wrong windows and no retaining walls before the slab was laid plus cyclone rods had to be added as an afterthought because their colourbond roof wont stand up to the wind rating. The faults we had at handover were minor and I think all builders are going to leave faults - nobody is perfect and it is a man-made product leaving plenty of room for error. But there was nothing that prevented us from wanting to pay or from moving in on the day of handover. I'd happily recommend them and we would build with them again. No, they weren't completely perfect but good luck finding someone that is! The next time around we probably wouldn't have many complaints because we know that their end product will be just as we ordered, whereas as first time builders we weren't sure of the processes. Our house looks fantastic and it was a very quick process all in all given that we signed up originally on Mother's Day in May. And the housewarming gift capped it all off! Its nice to see a builder give a gift that suggests they appreciate the $$$$ you spend with them and not just a token keyring. Just build it the way I want and everything will be okay. Hello and congratulations on your home! We liked Adenbrook also but they didn't have many double storey designs at that time. I like their quality and finish and you are right not every one can afford on building with them but if you can it is definitely the way to go. Congrats! Kate Re: Brisbane ADENBROOK Hamilton Finished!! 11Dec 10, 2007 11:14 pm BMP - a good post and enjoy the new abode - Mushroom traditions and all. ![]() and this quote comes to mind. "The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory."- Aldo Gucci. Good to hear someone singing the praises of their builder. And yes it is very very hard to be a perfect supplier, be it a builder, a supermarket, a boutique food store or a restuarant. Give and take - realistic expectations, a bit of give and take and it all works out in the long run. Steve Re: Brisbane ADENBROOK Hamilton Finished!! 12Dec 11, 2007 12:20 am Congrats bmp.

Adenbrook do make a nice home but even they have made a big booboo on our drainage. Not happy Jan!! They are running on time though!! Enjoy your new home – very jealous indeed. ![]() I agree - I am the boss!! Re: Brisbane ADENBROOK Hamilton Finished!! 16Dec 11, 2007 10:38 am Congratulations BMP. That is super news. WOW that is great. Was that from the builder himself or Aden? interesting situation what happened after builder issued final invoice? did you list as defect or not does the building surveyor have any responsibility? ie. issuing… 13 4445 yeah obviously its ideal if you can work it out direct. But the suggestion of legal was in contrast to the suggestion of blocking the pipe. If you get to the point where… 10 2837 |
